Job Description
- Develop and implement system and policies to administer documentation processes
- Resolves complex issues with solutions
- Manage subordinates on day-to-day operations
- Prepare of Import /export documents/ requisition/LC request
- Prepare of import loan related documents
- Monitor receipt of Letters of Credit and follow up on acceptances against Letters of Credit with the customers
- Follow up and co-ordination with Banks on Letter of Credit and preparation of documents to Bank
- Liaise with shipping line and bank for BL and Documentation
- Liaise with Port of Loading and Agents/Customers for smooth shipment and documentation
- Liaise with customers and market the timber and other commodities that the company is
- currently trading in as per the instructions of the management from time to time
- Monitor and report market information on price movements of the commodities
Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, international trade, or related field.
- 5-10years experience in shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, or a related field is advantageous.
- Extensive knowledge of the functions and department processes.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple shipments and tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with suppliers, customers, carriers, and other stakeholders.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulations.
- Problem-solving abilities to address issues that may arise during the shipping process.
- Knowledge of customs regulations, import/export laws, and international shipping procedures.
- Time management skills to meet deadlines and keep shipments on schedule.
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with colleagues from different departments.
- Understand various shipping modes, such as air, sea, road, and rail, and the associated requirements and challenges.
- Knowledge of Incoterms (international commercial terms) and their implications on shipping responsibilities.
- Adaptable and flexible in responding to unexpected situations is important.
- Staying informed about changing regulations, trade agreements, and compliance requirements is crucial to ensure the legality and efficiency of shipments.
- Awareness of safety regulations and practices to ensure that shipments are handled, transported, and stored safely.
- Singaporean or SPR.
- Must be able to commit on Alternate Saturdays (4hrs) Work Arrangement
