General operative within a food production environment
Requirements for a General Operative based in Aldridge, Walsall.
- Food Safety Level 2.
- Counterbalance FLT licence.
- Demonstrable experience of working in the meat industry.
- Be able to work in a Cold working environment.
- Moving of heavy loads.
Details required for a General Operative
- Responsible for receiving deliveries of goods from suppliers and performing initial safety and quality checks such as temperature, quantities, dates, and correct items have been received.
- Adhere to any health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures, ensuring that staff members are not put in any danger or situation that could cause harm to themselves or others.
- Adhere to any food safety regulations, policies, and procedures, ensuring the quality, safety and integrity of the product is kept to the highest standard and specification.
- Undertaking quality control inspections for any damages or defects, ensuring customer expectations and company standards are maintained, and reporting any issues to the line manager in a timely manner to allow a resolution.
- Storing and transporting goods in the appropriate locations, ensuring that they are in a safe and secure manner to prevent any damages.
- Inputting and maintaining stock inventory system including performing stock rotation to ensure minimal stock loss at a financial cost to the company.
- Transfer and distribute goods to the relevant departments within a timely manner to allow all departments to run smoothly.
- Operate equipment and processes effectively, including asset care, maximising output, adherence to plan, waste reduction and cost savings.
- Ensure efficient stock rotation is carried out in all areas.
- Maintain yard and storage area cleanliness.
