The post holder will: Assist the Designated Professional Safeguarding Adults in providing the strategic lead on all aspects of the health service contribution to safeguarding adults and the provision of services for adults at risk including supporting the safeguarding development across South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (SY ICB) Work in collaboration with the safeguarding team, across SY ICB, external stakeholders and partners to meet and monitor performance and compliance requirements within the national and local safeguarding agenda and inspection frameworks. Lead on providing advice for any safeguarding issues in the commissioning and contracting of high-quality services and will provide expert input into strategic and clinical planning, standard setting, and assurance processes in provider services. This will involve advising service planners and providers of the services required to meet their needs and contributing to ensuring the quality of the provision. Promote an evidenced based service, developing effective inter-disciplinary and inter-agency relationships to improve the outcomes for adults at risk. The role includes working with the Sheffield Adult Safeguarding Partnership (SASP) and Domestic and Sexual Abuse Strategic Board at a system level to ensure adults at risk are safeguarded and their human rights upheld. Work with the Designated Professional Safeguarding Adults to provide the professional leadership and consultancy to all provider services on all aspects of safeguarding adults at risk, promoting the need to make safeguarding personal. Deputise for Designated Professionals in SY ICB when required. Support the Designated Professionals and SY ICB in monitoring and reviewing the health component of safeguarding adult reviews, domestic homicide reviews and other forms of reviews involving adults which may on occasion contain distressing/emotional information. Support the Designated Professional Safeguarding Adults in their strategic and professional leadership for the Mental Capacity Act within SY ICB, providing support and advice to clinicians in individual cases and supervision to staff in areas where these issues may be particularly prevalent and/or complex. Represent SY ICB when required at various multi-agency forums. Work in partnership with the Local Authority in the development and delivery of the SASP Business plan and act as a voice for the health element of the plan Develop effective working relationships with leads for all areas of safeguarding adults including PREVENT, MCA/DoLS/LPS, LeDeR and domestic abuse across all Partners. Constructively challenge poor practice and support practice development. When requested by the Designated Professional Safeguarding Adults will support the wider functions of the team
