Plan and manage the day-to-day operations and administration of the Library, including management of resources and collection development within the approved budget.
Plan, develop and implement library policies and Standard Operating Procedures ("SOPs") for library operation and management, upon obtaining the Authority’s approval.
Monitor compliance with SOPs.
Provide the relevant management reports on library usage or transaction statistics, such as loan of materials, reference enquiries and etc., in accordance with the Authority’s requirements as to the frequency and schedule of report submission.
Manage the Library Management System (“LMS”), i.e. circulation, cataloguing, acquisition and access to online catalogue. To maintain accuracy of data in LMS and to monitor the movements of library items.
Assist in asset tracking, i.e. tracking of Library's assets including furniture, trolleys & equipment.
Perform library counter duties and manage the library loan services.
Manage the inter-library loans and document delivery to support the Authority’s information needs (for official purposes only). Fulfil request within five (5) working days, subject to the availability of requested title(s).
Liaise with relevant Divisions on facilities management, IT and security matters.
Any other library-related administrative duties assigned by the Authority's Appointed Representative.
Requirement
A Diploma (preferably from a local polytechnic).
At least ten (10) years of relevant experience working in libraries of similar capacity.
Experience in a law library is preferred.
A Certificate in Library and Information Management is preferred.
