Role overview:
My client is a World Leading Construction and Civil Engineering Company.
They are presently delivering a prestigious, circa £500m Water Infrastructure Framework which covers the counties of Hampshire & West Sussex, East Sussex and Kent.
They are seeking to employ, initially on a contract basis, a General Foreman / Senior General Foreman with a solid background in Civil Engineering projects.
As a General / Senior General Foreman you will ensure works are executed safely, within programme and to the highest quality standards.
You will:
- Have day to day management of site-based construction works.
- Be responsible for effective coordination of resources working on the project.
- Ensure temporary and permanent works are delivered in accordance with the design.
- Carefully plan material and plant requirements to meet programme and financial targets.
- Assist in planning and programming with site engineering teams.
- Participate in site discipline meetings to aid effective coordination and delivery of the works.
- Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Permit to Work systems are in place before work commences.
- Effectively liaise and communicate with site teams and subcontractors.
- Undertake site inductions with all subcontractors, including toolbox talks and 10-minute briefings.
- Ensure subcontractors deliver work to meet safety, quality and programme requirements.
- Ensure subcontractors are conforming to their own check sheets.
- Record and update site diaries.
About You:
Competency Requirements:
- Able to communicate effectively with site team and subcontractors.
- Experience of executing construction work in line with ITP's, quality standards and safety documentation.
- Confident in delivering safety briefings and toolbox talks.
- Able to read and interpret design drawings.
- Proven leadership capability.
- Good customer liaison skills.
- Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company health and safety policy and procedures.
Technical / Professional Qualifications Required:
- Relevant experience in civils and ideally water sector projects
- SMSTS.
- Relevant CSCS card - Blackl or Gold card
- Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packages.
- Temporary Works Card
- First Aid (Desirable)
- EURS Blue Card (ideally)
