• Negotiate and compose technical customer test requirements into effective sled test requirements and measurements
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Establish reporting timelines for post-test data processing and publish written technical reports
• Understand and communicate technical information to stakeholders across various disciplines, both verbally and in writing
• Assist in the creation and archival of accurate and timely test documentation including contract documents, test plans, safety plans, security plans, launch orders, mission reports, etc.
• Document test setup and post-test conditions
• Use a variety of software and analytic methods to deduce test conditions. Test data includes, but is not limited to Doppler radars, high speed cameras, accelerometers and angular rate sensors
• Draw conclusions based on test data and compile into a technical report
• Communicate effectively with test team and customers to achieve proper data collection. Primary modes of communication include technical reports, presentations and meetings/email correspondence
• Work with and motivate team members across diverse functional areas

The primary purpose of this position is to serves as a senior non-supervisory engineer for the Civil Engineer Division, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC) Detachment 6 in support of MAJCOM Strategic and Non-Strategic basing and beddown processes and associated Site Activation Task Forces (SATAFs).

• Executes projects for substantial new construction, renovations, and improvements for real property facilities, encompassing highly specialized or unique requirements, in accordance with all DoD, Air Force, laws and regulations.
• Collaborates with engineers, scientists, and other expert personnel at federal agencies, higher headquarters (HQ USAF, AF MAJCOMs, and FOAs) installation organizations, and other military services, and private organizations to ensure effective identification, evaluation, and provide a unique solution to complex engineering project management issues.
• Provides resource management support.
• Provides technical expertise to activities, staff, installations, and other organizations in order to resolve difficult/unusual facilities planning, design, construction, and/or maintenance problems/issues.
• Communicates critical issues to staff agencies, installations, and superiors.

All candidates should have a strong background in professional engineering principles, working in teams, and a desire to make significant contributions to our nation's defense. This position exposes the engineer to the test and evaluation career field. As such, prior test experience is desired, but not required. Experience with Air Force nuclear certified aircraft and weapon systems, or experience with military aircraft systems and conventional weapons integration is also desired, but not required.


This engineer will support platform leads by coordinating with their team to complete technical analyses, draft test plans, test reports, and review documentation for technical adequacy. They will learn the intricacies of the nuclear certification as it applies to aircraft. The engineer will gain valuable experience towards a career in the nuclear community. This position also exposes the engineer to aircraft communications with stores utilizing MIL-STD-1553 communications. Experience with aircraft communication systems utilizing MIL-STD-1553 is not required.

DUTIES:

• Support a multidiscipline team in evaluating Air Force aircraft or other weapons delivery platforms for nuclear compatibility certification. Analyze systems and assess test results and other evidence for compliance with interface agreements and other standards to make certification recommendations to AFNWC certifying officials.
• Assess new designs and modifications to Air Force systems from impacts to nuclear compatibility certification. Formulate certification task requirements.
• Support platform leads to coordinate certification efforts with external agencies including Air Force System Program Offices (SPO), Air Force Major Command offices, and the National Nuclear Surety Administration.
• Support planning and conducting Aircraft Monitor and Control (AMAC) testing.
• Assess evidence and results across multiple engineering disciplines including systems engineering technical reviews, software assessments, simulations, and modeling.

The Infrastructure Section designs, and/or reviews the designs of others, for sustainment and modifications of Real Property and Real Property Installed Equipment (RP/RPIE) and ICBM Infrastructure and Equipment (IIE) that directly supports the ICBM Launch Facilities, Missile Alert Facilities/Launch Control Centers, and Test Launch Facilities at Malmstrom AFB, MT, Minot AFB, ND, FE Warren AFB, WY and Vandenberg SFB, CA. The Infrastructure team also provides technical data and maintenance procedures for field level and depot level maintainers from missile maintenance groups, civil engineer squadrons, and depot field teams.

DUTIES:

• Serve as first-line supervisor performing the following tasks: typical personnel management tasks, assign and manage work within the Branch, organize and conduct training; acquire necessary resources to accomplish the mission; and provide feedback and evaluations for assigned employees.
• Contribute to current and future ICBM infrastructure policy and guidance development.
• Perform engineering duties, implement digital engineering concepts, integrate efforts with multiple System Program Offices, Depot Field Teams, MAJCOM and installation level leadership and maintenance personnel, and provide technical expertise in support of the MMIII electrical section.
• Manage engineering workload for assigned area of responsibility, reviews, and allocates tasks across team members, direct technical evaluations, and lead reviews of technical documentation for electrical section.
• Mentor, lead, guide, direct engineers, logisticians and equipment specialists within the electrical section on technical issues; assure that assigned employees work as a cohesive team; and provide employees with opportunities that foster professional career development.

• Performs planning and design work for substantial multi-phase new construction, renovations, and improvement projects for real property facilities, including utility systems, utilizing a professional knowledge of engineering.
  
• Manages projects for new construction, renovations, and improvements to real property facilities and maintains surveillance over construction contractors utilizing a professional knowledge of general engineering and knowledge of architecture to ensure overall compliance with contracted specifications, schedules, etc.
  
• Plans, programs, budgets, and executes required projects in support of assigned programs. Performs work in facilities operations and maintenance (O&M) functions.
  
• Provides consulting services and project coordination. Coordinates projects with other engineers in a variety of disciplines, architects, and planners as well as contracting officers, tenant organization representatives, and construction agents
  
• Collects data and evaluates factors which affect the application of concepts, principles, theories, and methods required to observe, examine, measure, analyze, map, and describe physical and technical features and phenomena.
  
• Complies with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.

• Performs Broad Range of Multidisciplinary Professional Engineering Work to Enable Technically Adequate Test. Applies expert knowledge and mastery of advanced engineering theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods to advance operational testing.
• Technical Expert for Assigned Operational Test Programs, Identifies Test Capability Shortfalls, Proposes Solutions to Enable Current and Future Test.
• Performs Research and Analyses to Support Advocacy of Future Test Capability Infrastructure Solutions. Serves as a consultant and technical expert to senior subject matter specialists and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations.
• Participates in Planning Conferences, Test Events, Prepares Reports, and Conducts Technical Presentations.

1. Performs multidisciplinary professional engineering assessment work involving the application of electronics, mechanical, aerospace, and/or other engineering disciplines to determine the business and technical needs of customers in the Mission Assurance, Anti-Terrorism and Integrated defense and Risk to Mission Arena.
