Electrical Control Panel Technician

Position Details:

• Type: Permanent, immediate start available
• Salary: Up to £32,448 PA DOE, with overtime available at 1.5 times the hourly rate
• Location: Cambourne - St. Neots area (own transport required)
• Working Hours: 39 hours per week, with a mid-day finish on Fridays
• Free on-site car parking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Constructing and wiring control panels according to technical drawings
• Testing and fault-finding on control panels

• You will translate operations, maintenance standards, and trouble-shooting procedures into comprehensive technical publications.
• You will provide technical recommendations and evaluate department requests for modification of technical manuals and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) products.
• You will interpret technical engineer drawings and translate operations into detailed step-by-step instructions for carrying out tasks, methods, and procedures.

• You will provide oversight of the development, coordination and management of the integrated Test Plan (ITP).
• You will review work items for proper testing requirements and ensures all Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) will be provided.
• You will identify testing key events and milestones that may be required in addition to production key events and milestones.
• You will develop and/or coordinate test schedules with Project Support Engineers (PSE), test site personnel, and other organizations involved in the test events to provide information and status to the project team.
• You will review completed Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) for I-level testing and certify results.
• You will spot check "in progress" testing to verify the sequencing of testing, procedures and methods.
• You will prepare reports and maintain records of work accomplishment and administrative information as required.

• You will perform operational maintenance on boiler plant equipment to maintain optimum function.
• You will make regular inspections (e.g., checking gauges, rate of fuel consumption, rate of steam) to ascertain boiler operating performance.
• You will direct junior employees in fueling, firing, steaming, and cleaning boilers.
• You will observe control systems to take precautionary measures (e.g., close valves, start auxiliary pumps, change or shut down boilers, secure precipitators) to prevent damage to equipment or injury to personnel.
• You will identify treatment and chemicals to control chemical concentrations, remove impurities, entrapped gasses, or to stabilize fluctuating boiler water conditions.

• Serve as a clinical nurse in a Regional Level II Trauma Emergency Department providing a full range of professional nursing care to a wide variety of patients.
• Provide continuous observation, monitoring, and intervene to prevent complications and restore hemodynamic stability when necessary.
• Assist the physician in the performance of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and other specialized procedures.
• Administer oxygen, intravenous fluids, blood transfusions and all types of medications during emergent events.
• Operate specialized medical equipment such as resuscitators, defibrillators, electrocardiographs, oxygen apparatus, intravenous pumps, and rapid intravenous infusers.
• Prepare specimens for lab and transport as required.
• Plan, oversee and facilitate nursing triage within the ambulatory care arena.
• Coordinate patient referrals to ancillary health care professionals.

• Take vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, pain level, height, weight, measurement of head circumference, and length).
• Document patients' chief complaints and other pertinent information in the health record.
• Administer oral, intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular immunizations to all age groups in accordance with established protocols.
• Perform teaching to patients and/or family regarding self-care procedures and document teaching.
• Recognize adverse signs and symptoms immediately and call for assistance if the situation warrants it.
• Set up, operate and monitor specialized equipment, such as cardiac monitor, and/or defibrillator.

This position is not under the Federal Law Enforcement Retirement System. The tour of duty will start at midnight. 

Brief Description of Duties:

• Supports efforts to reduce delinquency and recidivism through collaboration with local schools, community groups/associations, law enforcement agencies, and other collaborating organizations.
• Represents the Court Social Services Division (CSSD) at public safety and other community meetings addressing public safety by ensuring issues and concerns raised at such forums and meetings are communicated to the Office of the Director through the chain of command and also ensuring information regarding efforts and activities of the CSSD are expressed at such forums and meetings.
• Installs and removes electronic monitoring equipment primarily at the central office, and also in the various offices operated by the CSSD, the Youth Services Center (YSC), and also in the homes of court-supervised juvenile offenders.
• Provides community outreach to improve Court relationships with the community stakeholders.
• Provides electronic monitoring oversight across all CSSD satellite offices and in community settings.
• Provides troubleshooting support, monitors equipment malfunctions, and makes technical adjustments to GPS electronic devices, as needed.
