• Leads three (3) or more employees in performing their duties while performing the full range of housekeeping tasks.

Works under general supervision of the Supervisory Program Analyst (Chief Technical Development and Training) in the Army Recreation Machine Program. Create, update, and completes HQ technical documents and assignments related to research, documentation, testing, evaluating, and maintaining gaming devices and related equipment. Researches, identifies, and tests new and current gaming products. Maintains laboratory test equipment and machines in working condition. Assists in development and publishing of organization gaming machine technical SOPs, including security procedures, organization technical memoranda and bulletins related to operation of gaming machines and supporting peripheral equipment.

Researches and stays abreast of developing technology and gaming machine applications. Develops processes to test and validate that operational systems and data support systems are secure and operating properly. When directed, conducts periodic quality control inspections of field operations to ensure compliance with SOPs, technical memoranda, technical bulletins, and machine/network security. Provide technical support and guidance to district staff as required. Evaluate and troubleshoot technical compatibility of gaming devices with Slot Management System (SMS). Liaise with vendors to coordinate troubleshooting and solutions for known issues. Maintain an in-depth technical knowledge and understanding of gaming devices and related infrastructure. Proactively stay abreast of the latest industry, gaming technologies, and solutions. Fully conversant with all gaming equipment installed in the locations. Tests, evaluates, and distributes gaming machine software and firmware in a secure and verifiable fashion. Develops and conducts standardized training for all organization Field Service Technicians and Supervisors. Interprets technical guidance from State Gaming Licensing Boards and independent Testing Laboratories. Manages projects related to testing and fielding of new gaming machines and/or peripheral equipment. Maintains ongoing communication and ensures ongoing coordination with commercial vendors of gaming machine products. Evaluates and recommends adoption of new technical systems and equipment that support enhanced business operations to enhance revenues and/or reduce operating expenses. 1. Inspects a large variety of heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive vehicles such as attack tanks, large cranes, tank retrievers, fire trucks, bridge transporters, armored vehicle launched bridges, bulldozers, road graders, crawler tractors, power shovels, self propelled earth compacting equipment, self propelled artillery, etc. May also inspect heavy artillery, small arms, powered support and other equipment or components of equal or lesser complexity.
2. Inspects complex, interrelated mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic and electrical systems, equipment and their components while in operation or in a standby condition. Inspects and performs tests to braking, steering, and differential systems, which are mechanically integrated with the transmission; to large engines that directly power multiple hydraulic and pneumatic systems; to intricate fuel injection systems; to turret stabilization systems; and to other systems combined in a single, complex mechanical assembly. Uses specially designed testing methods and test equipment such as computerized test sets, precision gauges, electronic sensors, injector test stands, engine scopes, etc., to assure that tolerance and safety factors have been met.
3. Inspects equipment to determine repairs needed. Utilizes established Maintenance Expenditure Limits (MEL) to evaluate economic feasibility of repair(s). Considers a variety of factors such as cost and availability of parts, man-hours, and impact of time constraints on the mission to assess whether repair is economical. Recommends to a higher echelon to condemn equipment when the repair cost exceeds the established MEL. Prepares lists of needed repairs, parts, and man-hours authorized. Performs in-process inspections to assure that equipment is being repaired in accordance with pertinent requirements. Performs final inspection, certifying that equipment is in satisfactory operating condition, or rejects the work and returns the equipment to the repair shop with specific reports prescribing additional repairs.
4. Inspects the full range of equipment as described above at remote worksites in support of field organizations, field units during field exercise training periods, or before major pieces of equipment are sent for repair to a supporting maintenance facility. Serves as inspector on Command Maintenance Evaluation Teams (COMET) and/or as a member of Maintenance Assistance and Instruction Teams (MAIT)

Develops and implements a training program for subordinate electronics technicians in accordance with Army Regulations (AR) and Training Circulars (TC). Attends and successfully completes formal training courses and on-the-job training programs. Maintains training records. Ensures electronics technicians are well trained, properly certified, and knowledgeable and proficient to comply with equipment certification responsibilities. Ensures electronics technicians are fully trained in all aspects of job-related safety, equipment safety, personal safety and security directives.

Interfaces with and provides expert technical advice and guidance to the Airfield Manager, installation leadership, higher headquarters, and associated government agencies on complex ATC equipment maintenance and support issues. Works closely with the Airfield Manager, Air Traffic Control Facility Chief, Department of the Army Representative (DAR), and other key installation personnel to ensure mission requirements are met with no adverse impact. Prepares, plans, support agreements, staff summary sheets, written reports and recommendations to leadership concerning equipment issues, problems, base support, and other limiting factors. Develops and publishes organizational level operating instructions as appropriate to assign responsibilities and delineate requirements for equipment operation, accountability, and maintenance. Directs and implements changes to maintenance practices and policies on the basis of sound management practices and guidance from governing directives. Serves as a senior electronics technician responsible for maintaining a highly-complex Air Traffic Control (ATC) Tower used for safely guiding both civilian and military aircraft in the vicinity of the airport. Incumbent exercises judgment in the selection, interpretation and application of a wide range of most applicable established guidelines and methods for typical situations, and recognizes when guidelines and methods prescribed are not sufficient and modifies concepts, practices, and precedents to derive innovative approaches and procedures to meet specific atypical situations caused by compressed timeframes, electromagnetic interference or variances in electronic circuitry. Incumbent monitors individuals, small work groups or teams on site, and is responsible for oversight, maintenance, certification and documentation of assigned ATC and Navigational Aid systems and facilities in the National Airspace System (NAS). Major, controversial problems are discussed with the ATC Facility Chief and Airfield Manager for the purpose of reaching unanimity of opinions and objectives. Decisions, recommendations, maintenance certifications and documentation of a punitive nature are conducted by the employee and are normally accepted as technically correct and binding on the agency. Incumbent is routinely required to formulate point papers, status reports and other correspondence in an effort to assist contract manager with understanding and accepting findings and recommendations related to the field of expertise.

Participates in, and conducts site surveys to determine the best location of new or relocated ATC facilities. Aids in the planning and design, or modifies existing electronic designs for the installation or modification of ATC facilities. Acts as local project manager for new equipment installation or equipment/facility upgrade to include maintenance of a prescribed project folder, coordination of project support requirements, and establishment of a new equipment stock list, preventive maintenance program, and training package.

Perform limited diagnosis, routine repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive vehicles.

Assist higher graded mechanics in the repair and/or overhaul of major systems to include internal combustion engines, turbine engines, automatic and non-automatic transmissions, heavy duty drive line systems, and hydraulic utility systems and controls.

Independently perform routine repairs and maintenance functions in remote locations that can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts of components and systems using standard parts.

Receive guidance and instruction from a higher graded mechanic or supervisor to perform non-routine and more complex repairs on portions of major assemblies and/or systems.

Conduct limited readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and associated equipment supported by the activity.

Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) and ensures vehicles and equipment are properly serviced, including brake adjustments, replacing hydraulic fluids, greasing, cleaning, etc.

Recover and evacuates inoperable vehicles from the unit location of breakdown.

Determine when parts should be cleaned, adjusted or replaced with standard parts to complete work orders.
