- You will overhaul, repair, modify and participate in the test and refueling of nuclear reactor plant systems and associated components.
- You will install, adjusts set and repair or replace, various controls and regulation of safety devices such as meters, gages, valves, switches and automatic alarms.
- You will perform on-the site machining of parts, test the operations of machinery, and repair valves (primary and secondary), pumps, actuators, operatives, etc.
- You will use various portable machine tools, such as seal weld cutting machines, portable milling machines, facing machines, and drills.
- You will use precision measuring instruments as height gages, depth gages, calipers, verniers, various types of micrometers, and protractors.
- You will be required to read the work from blueprints, sketches, and specifications in determining critical dimensions and key reference points.
- You will examine and troubleshoot to determine the extent of repairs required, materials or parts needed, and to estimate the time required to complete repairs.
- You will disassemble, repair, and rebuild components and assemblies such as shafts, propellers, rudders, engines, and sea valves.
- You will operate machinery and equipment for launching systems, torpedo tubes, periscopes, antennas, sonar, and radar equipment; and other shipboard equipment such as air compressors, feed pumps, condensers, and air ejectors.
- You will independently dismantle, move, and relocate various types of submarine and shipboard machinery such as turbines, generators, diesel engines, and their accessories or install new machinery.
Starting at $27.60 Per Hour (WG 10)
