The primary purpose of this position is to as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) officer position, to serve as an assistant to the Maintenance Group Commander and as such, reviews policy and assists the Senior ART/Maintenance Group (MXG) Commander in planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and controlling all activities and operations of the Maintenance Group. Incumbent receives experience, training, and instruction in providing overall staff direction to all Maintenance Group programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. In conjunction with the MXG Senior Art/Commander plans, direct, organizes, manages, and provides oversight for activities in the Maintenance Group. Responsible to the Maintenance Group Senior ART/Commander in integrating, and executing all aspects of the assigned maintenance activities/programs within cost, schedule, performance and/or system supportability requirements.
2. Represents the Maintenance Group Commander at a variety of installation and functional area organizational meetings. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other group commanders, representatives and senior staff at Numbered Air Force, HQ AFRC, gaining MAJCOMs, and Air Staff.
3. Ensures effective operation of the aircraft maintenance complex. Make periodic and comprehensive assessment of program through a review of performance indicators, productivity goals and accomplishments, deficiency reports, audit findings, etc.
4. Accomplishes special staff studies, projects and initiatives resulting from legislative and regulatory changes, reengineering efforts, new technology, privatization, program/mission changes, etc. Identifies the need for studies, establishes goals and objectives, and designates working group(s) as needed.
