The primary purpose of this position is: An Enlisted Air Reserve Technician (ART), to assist the medical records administration specialist with responsibility for the daily operations of the Medical Records, Quality Assurance, and Risk Management programs. Oversees all activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to the organization's policies and procedures covering Service Treatment Records (STR) administration. Provides direct support to the Medical Records Administration ART and Senior ART by accomplishing a variety of duties relating to medical administration, military functions, and analysis to assist with the operational requirements of the Squadron and Wing Force Health programs. Works directly with AFRC STR Processing Center, sub-set of Air Force Medical Readiness Agency (AFMRA). Provides training to reserve members in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.

Duties:
1. Provides direct support to the Medical Records Administrator and Senior ART in planning, directing, implementing, and controlling all elements of the day-to-day STR operation.
2. Ensures quality and security of the STR program.
3. Provides advisory and consultant services on service treatment records to Reserve Medical Unit staff.
4. Educates Reserve Medical Unit personnel and others on service treatment records requirements.
5. Manages Health Service Benefits and Entitlements.

• Develop recommended reprogramming of funds to ensure that balance is maintained.
• Recommend transfer of funds, as appropriate, to cover increased obligations or reduced expenditures
• Develop projections, based on projected workload or historical data.
• Compile and balance budget data for submission.
• Develop and/or utilize automated spreadsheet and database applications.

• Obtain information from patients and/or family to identify major complaints, symptoms, or reason for seeking health care.
• Take vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, pain level, height, weight, measurement of head circumference and length) as part of patient's medical assessment and perform a behavioral health screening of assigned patient.
• Provide individualized nursing care to patients based upon the physician's medical plan, the nursing assessment and the physical, mental and emotional needs of the patient.
• Screen and review immunization records to select required immunizations, correct dosages, and administer oral, intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular immunizations to all age groups.
• Assist physician with various examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Perform teaching to patients and/or family regarding self-care procedures and documents teaching.

• Review and record patient history and supporting clinical data prior to each procedure.
• Simultaneously analyze and control highly specialized electrophysiologic, angiographic and hemodynamic monitors with interactive, complex programs.
• Monitor hemodynamic values, waveforms, pressure gradients and electrocardiogram tracings; immediately differentiates normal from abnormal and informs team of changes in patient status.
• Participate with physician in planning procedures and initiates preparation for procedure.
• Prepare a sterile field, maintains aseptic technique, and can assist the cardiologist at his request during a catheterization procedure.
• Record anatomical, physiological, and/or pathological data for further diagnosis.
• Connect and verify functionality of physiologic monitoring equipment such as ECG, blood pressure, pulse oxygenation, capnography, and arterial and/or venous pressure transducer.
• Ensure proper function and data collection of all monitoring equipment and software during procedure
• Provide detailed patient education regarding pre, intra, and post procedural requirements, expectations and potential complications.
• Connect external imaging systems such as cardiac ultrasound, cardiac device programmers, IVUS, OCT, ICE and other imaging sources into catheterization lab suite display systems.

• Measure and fit patients with all types of custom made orthotic appliances.
• Operate shop machines and hand tools required to perform fabrication, alteration and repair of orthotic appliances.

Health Technician-Ophthalmology full performance level duties include, but aren't limited to the following:

Provides technical clinical care to patients who have received care provided by Ophthalmologists for diagnosis, treatment, prevention, follow-up care & patient counseling
