About the role

The Fabric Technician is the main person who will have contact with the end users or main customers. They work closely with their colleagues, with other Building Engineering Technicians and Asset Technicians across the business, and with Fabric Team Managers. They provide knowledge of the Building Fabric industry to the customer and ensure that a first class service is always given to the customer ensuring their premises are secure and safe at all times. The Fabric Technician will apply their skill and technical knowledge to a range of different situations that require previous experience and judgement in order to solve fabric related problems or to ensure completion of projects. Ensure full compliance with RMPFS health and safety policies and procedures to ensure safety of colleagues, customers and the public.

About You

We are looking for someone who is computer literate particularly in electronic management systems and email. Your new role

National Highways is recruiting a Highway Technician to join our Engineering Team within our Operations Directorate in the South West region.

Throughout the planning and development stage of a project, you will provide support in the identification and development of early solutions for highways assets, working with key stakeholders including project teams and third parties to coordinate works across the region, and to provide technical support as needed.

This role shall provide an excellent opportunity to apply and develop your engineering and asset management knowledge, skills and experience within a progressive organisation investing billions across the strategic road network.

All applicants must be willing to undertake National Security Vetting in order to work in a Prison Setting. This will be completed as part of the pre-employment checks through Oxleas and the prison vetting team.

Proof of right to work documentation

Proof of ID, needs to include 1 photographic ID

Proof of address documentation

Non-UK passport holders will need to have correct documentation (right to work in the UK) and a Home office Share code.

Address History:

5 years address history will be needed.

Applicants that are not UK Passport holders who provide less than 5 years UK address history will need to provide a Police Certificate which must be in English from where they resided previously.

Applicants who are UK Passport holders who have lived abroad for a period of more than six months during the last three years will need to provide a certificate of good conduct or an overseas police check in English from the countries resided in or visited.
