The role
As a Nuclear Facilities Authorisation Group Chairperson, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This opportunity plays a pivotal role during an exciting time of major expenditure and interesting and novel upgrade projects.

Day-to-day, you'll lead the review of documentation in support of activities within the Submarine Nuclear Facilities at Devonport. You will also undertake the safe release of work following authorisation. Reporting to the Plant Manager in the Nuclear Operations Directorate and will be interacting with the Design Authority, Operations, Maintenance and Project Managers

• Chair a multi-disciplined group to review work activities on the facilities.
• Authorise the work activity documents
• Safely release the work
• Ensure compliance with the safety case
• Upkeep the appropriate operational records

This role is full time 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience of the Nuclear Facilities Authorisation Group Chairperson

• Knowledge of nuclear facilities and submarine maintenance
• Experience of working within the constraints of a safety case and license or authorised conditions
• Equivalent training and experience can be considered such as a previously qualified Royal Navy Category A watch keeper or suitable experience from other nuclear installations.

• Relevant Engineering Degree or significant experience.

You'll be leading the quality training program, managing purchase requisitions and ensuring internal complaints are resolved. No two days will be alike in this diverse role.

Main tasks Supporting medication reviews and medicines reconciliation for patients and synchronising medicines for patient transfers between care settings linking with local community pharmacists. Review clinical correspondence to carryout medicines reconciliation following hospital discharge or outpatient appointment review. Perform medicines improvement work to maximise safe, cost-effective best practice in prescribing under the supervision of the GPs and Pharmacists. Provide leadership for medicines optimisation systems across PCNs, supporting practices with a range of services to get the best value from medicines by encouraging and implementing electronic prescriptions, safe repeat prescribing systems and timely monitoring and management of high-risk medicines. Conduct medicine optimisation tasks including effective medicine administration (e.g., checking inhaler technique), support medication reviews and medicines reconciliation. When required, utilise consultation skills to work in partnership with patients to ensure they use their medicines effectively Review requests for medicines that are not on repeat prescription and issue within the protocol as agreed by the practice. Assist with medication safety monitoring i.e., high risk drugs, DMARDS, MHRA alerts etc. Liaise with clinical and administrative staff to resolve medicine-related queries. Monitor practice prescribing and adherence to practice, local and national prescribing policies. Improve service and quality through carrying out and partaking in audits. Support the practice to achieve and deliver on QOF and Medicines Optimisation and other prescribing incentive schemes. Support the implementation of national prescribing policies and guidance within GP practices, care homes and other primary care settings. This will be achieved through undertaking clinical audits (e.g., use of antibiotics), supporting quality improvement measures and contributing to the Quality and Outcomes Framework and enhanced services. Build relationships with the practice team, community pharmacy and local care homes. Develop relationships with other Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacists and members of the multi-disciplinary team to support the integration of the pharmacy team across health and social care including primary care, community pharmacy, secondary care and mental health. Undertake any tasks consistent with the level of the post and the scope of the role, ensuring that work is delivered in a timely and effective manner. Duties may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the post or the level of responsibility. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. Your new role

As a Services Engineer, you will play a critical role in the delivery of both planned and reactive works across a diverse portfolio of public and operational buildings in Plymouth. This varied role will see you undertake several responsibilities, to include:

• Undertaking site inspections before deciding on the appropriate response, taking into consideration the council's maintenance strategy.
• Liaise with framework contractors in order to deliver responsive maintenance activities, liaising with both building users and other stakeholders throughout.
• Review and approve invoices and applications for maintenance payments.

This role will see you contribute to Plymouth City Council's carbon reduction agenda, whilst also ensuring condition reports are up to date, and accurate.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this position, you will need to have a good understanding and grounding within mechanical engineering within a building services, facilities or property maintenance environment. In order to demonstrate your capability in this area, you will need to hold at least an ONC or level three qualification.
