Housing and Technical Resources is seeking to appoint an experienced Building Services Contracts Manager to lead and manage the delivery of the Council’s programmes of property investment, maintenance and repairs. Responsible to the Head of Property Services and a member of the Property Services Management Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective day to day management of capital and revenue programmes of works to both the Councils 420 operational establishments and 26,000 homes, together with strategic planning and management of a team of almost 700 employees.
Joining Property Services at a period of significant change, you will work with the Management Team to deliver the redesign of the Service and integration of existing teams to align with Council priorities and future programmes of work.
You will have a background of management within the property maintenance environment and will have demonstrable experience in managing teams of professional/technical/trades operatives to successfully deliver programmes of works and maintenance, efficiently and effectively.
With a track record of excellent service delivery, you will have the ability to communicate and interact constructively with a variety of stakeholders and partners, including team members, elected officials, trades unions and customers, this is an essential requirement of the appointment.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience workforce planning, allocation of resources and have the ability and skills to understand and manage budgets, including profit and loss reports.
You will have knowledge of Health and Safety within a construction and property maintenance environment and, ideally be a member of a professional or trades body or have relevant experience.
