In this role you will manage the provision and development of cleaning, catering and janitorial services across the Council’s learning estate of nearly 60 properties and our offices. The service profile is an operational budget of over £14m per year and around 900 employees equating to c330 full time equivalents. This role is responsible for line management of a central team who supervise the wider workforce and operational delivery plans.
You will:
- Lead the delivery of Soft FM services across Council premises.
- Clarify priorities, plans, and goals/performance standards for your team; creating an inclusive, high performing culture where colleagues can develop and thrive.
- Provide reporting on productivity and other KPIs.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and practises and implement these.
- Realign the janitorial service current managed by Headteachers into a centrally managed soft FM provision.
What you will bring to the role:
- Significant experience in managing soft FM delivery across multiple sites and multiple services.
- Experience of line management in a busy, customer focused team.
- Strong people management, coaching and managing capability skills.
- Experience of transforming service delivery, managing contracts and procurement and maximising the available budget resource while delivering efficiencies and savings targets to be met.
- Specialist knowledge of soft FM services, including but not limited to Catering, Cleaning and Janitorial services.
- Knowledge of relevant technical guidance for Soft FM services ideally in a local authority environment.
- Your ability to manage competing demands and organisation of workload for yourself and your team.
