· Job Description
Responsible for design, specification and services related to control systems including basic process control systems, safety systems, control panels, analyzer systems, telecommunications, field instrumentation and valves etc. May also be responsible for advanced controls optimization. As the primary authority, performs all conventional aspects of the functional area subject matter. Devises new approaches to problems encountered. Plans, schedules, and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements. Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a minimum of 16 years related experience, with average experience of 16+ years. Requires sufficient professional experience to assure competence as a fully trained professional. Work requires a broad knowledge of precedents. Also may be responsible for leadership of a functional area on a small project or a segment of a larger project. As the lead, plans, budgets, organizes, coordinates and controls the project and is responsible for employee performance appraisals and for coaching and developing lower level professionals. Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer is preferred.

This specific position is considered the Main Automation Contractor (MAC) Manager within the Coordinating Project Management Contractor (cPMC) Team for a Mega Scale International Program. The MAC Manager will work under the Program Director to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard Instrumentation and Control Systems engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications within the overall MAC program. In-depth knowledge and experience with DCS/SIS/FGS for large scale projects is a must. Knowledge and experience with Traditional, Remote I/O, and Foundation Fieldbus signal is required.
Responsibilities:
· Evaluation of MAC suppliers based on program guidelines.
· Prepare accurate and complete evaluation reports and prepare professional presentations of the evaluations.
· Meet directly with our International Client to present the MAC Evaluation Results.
· Coordinate with other disciplines and assist engineers and/or designers to ensure effective quality product.
· Keep up to date on new engineering processes, techniques, and IMS and standards.
· Investigate and resolve unusual design and field engineering problems by devising new approaches.
· Ensure that effective methods and design/engineering techniques are used.
· Resolve project issues and problems.
· Provide technical guidance to the design team.
· Collaborate with design team to maximize design value.
· Provide employee performance feedback to discipline manager.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification/ Certification:
· BS degree in Control System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering with 16 plus years of hands-on engineering experience strongly preferred in petrochemical, midstream or other heavy industries.
· Excellent verbal, written communication skills required.
· Knowledge of Instrument calculation computer applications.
· Ability to integrate new technologies into daily work processes.
· Experience working with other disciplines understanding their interface requirements.
· Experience with design and/or construction of plants desirable.
· Knowledge of NEC, IEC , ISA & IEEE standards, methods and practices.
Skills Requirement:
· MS Office (Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word, working knowledge in Access)
· MS Office (Excel and Word) and product proficiency required.
