Title: Maintenance Manager
Location: Bicester, Oxfordshire
Hours: Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week
Salary: Circa £50,000 - £55,000 (Negotiable / depending on experience)
Overview:
This independent family run business has expanded into the leading wholesaler over the last 40 years now collecting 300 pallets of stock daily and holding stock over 10 million units. They have recently commissioned a new site in Bicester and are seeking an experienced automation engineer with previous management experience to develop the site from the ground up.
Your role will involve meeting the high expectations of our key stakeholders by overseeing both proactive and reactive maintenance of our automated systems, which encompass conveying systems, sortation machines, Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), and advanced packing machines. We seek a candidate who possesses strong engineering skills, is forward-thinking, and is committed to delivering exceptional service.
Daily Duties:
- Oversee both the proactive and reactive maintenance of a comprehensive automated storage and retrieval system to maximize equipment availability.
- Employ established engineering practices to foster an environment of continuous improvement.
- Supervise contracted work to ensure compliance with safety standards at all times.
- Maintain precise and timely records of failure root causes and all completed work, ensuring thorough handover information between shifts.
- Produce performance KPIs and ensure stakeholders are kept up to date with departmental and equipment performance.
- Assume responsibility for all building and facility requirements, ensuring compliance with both company policies and legal standards.
Requirements:
- Over 3 years of experience in engineering or maintenance supervision and management.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative.
- A leader who leads by example to achieve optimal results.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced leadership position.
- Strong communication skills.
- Friendly, approachable, and eager to collaborate with others.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Results-oriented, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- HNC or equivalent in an Engineering Discipline
- Knowledge of LEAN & SIX SIGMA principles (preferred)
- ISOH Managing safely qualification (preferred)
- Experience of CAMMS (Computer Aided Maintenance Management System)
