Works under general supervision of the Supervisory Program Analyst (Chief Technical Development and Training) in the Army Recreation Machine Program. Create, update, and completes HQ technical documents and assignments related to research, documentation, testing, evaluating, and maintaining gaming devices and related equipment. Researches, identifies, and tests new and current gaming products. Maintains laboratory test equipment and machines in working condition. Assists in development and publishing of organization gaming machine technical SOPs, including security procedures, organization technical memoranda and bulletins related to operation of gaming machines and supporting peripheral equipment.

Researches and stays abreast of developing technology and gaming machine applications. Develops processes to test and validate that operational systems and data support systems are secure and operating properly. Tests, evaluates, and distributes gaming machine software and firmware in a secure and verifiable fashion. Develops and conducts standardized training for all organization Field Service Technicians and Supervisors. Interprets technical guidance from State Gaming Licensing Boards and independent Testing Laboratories. Manages projects related to testing and fielding of new gaming machines and/or peripheral equipment. Maintains ongoing communication and ensures ongoing coordination with commercial vendors of gaming machine products. Dow has an exciting job opportunity for a Senior Research & Development (R&D) Technician in the Reaction Engineering discipline within Core R&D Engineering and Process Science in Freeport, Texas

The Reaction Engineering lab conducts experimental research using automated tubular, fixed bed, and stirred tank systems equipped with various analytical techniques from on-line gas chromatography, in situ Raman and FTIR to heat flow calorimetry. Partnerships with Business R&D and manufacturing provide a consistent flow of new challenging projects across an array of process technologies.
This role is in the Lake Jackson Texas Innovation Center, E.C. Britton building and you will partner with Reaction Engineers and the leadership applying exceptional mechanical skills to conduct research with variety of reactor systems. You will be a self-starter with attention to detail and is eager to learn new areas of laboratory reactors and analytical equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Works as part of a team in a laboratory supporting engineers in developing, screening and commercializing new processes. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, manage timelines, and interact effectively with numerous team members of diverse background is critical.
• Manages and then safely executes laboratory work requests, building, maintaining, operating and troubleshooting relevant laboratory apparatus and testing equipment and documenting data in Electronic Lab Notebook.
• Develops experimental plans for review/approval by project leader and executes approved plans by performing routine and non-standard tasks or procedures of higher complexity.
•  Achieves project goals using technical, role-specific skills and experience, and introduces new procedures for new instrument methods, equipment changes, or new equipment.
• Develops a specific expertise within the department and laboratory work group in specific procedures, equipment, or instruments.

About You and This Role:

As Sr Pilot Plant Technician, you will utilize process knowledge and operations expertise to safely and proficiently operate Gas Phase Catalyst pilot plant. The key deliverable is accurate process data that meets timelines to make decisions about commercial implementation of catalysts. You will perform operations related activities as per Master Task List, inputs from trial documents, and run sheets. You will correct process or equipment issues and coordinates pilot plant maintenance activities. This is a 24-hour operation, and you will be required the ability to work 12-hour shifts during the day and at night on a rotating basis.

• Applies technical proficiency to safely and efficiently operate equipment in assigned plant areas.

Conduct operational checks of complete systems to verify proper functioning of components and systems.  Diagnose malfunctions or failures and make adjustments, repairs or replacements of parts or components.

This position is located at various customer locations throughout the United States.  The assigned location changes per contract need.  Generally, the person filling the role will work 4 weeks at the customer site and then work 2 weeks from their home (although, this arrangement may vary due to maintenance schedule needs).  Additionally, the schedule is normally 4 ten hour days per week.

The hourly rate for this role is expected to be between $38 and $52 per hour depending on experience.

Your challenges:

• Perform maintenance and inspections utilizing airframe and power plant (A&P) license outside of certified repair station (CRS).
• Perform advanced troubleshooting to diagnose malfunctioning systems and components to determine corrective action required to assure safety and airworthiness of aircraft.
• Conduct applicable airframe calendar/hourly inspections, hidden damage inspections of airframe structures and sub-assemblies.  Conduct operational and functional checks of structures, systems, and/or components as required verifying acceptability/airworthiness.
• Participate in flight tests on aircraft.  Perform track and balancing of rotor systems and vibration analysis.
• Perform thorough receiving inspection of aircraft, determining overall airworthiness of aircraft through physical examination of aircraft and associated records.  Proficient in inspections to determine airworthiness impacts of any found discrepancies.

Your boarding pass:              

• Minimum of 8 years aviation maintenance experience on BK117 C2/D3 or EC135 OR 12 years of rotary wing aviation maintenance experience of which at least 6 months are on the BK117 C2/D3 or EC135.

• Current FAA A&P license
• Minimum 2 years of Leadership Experience and/or equivalent education classes (i.e. served in a Lead position previously, attended leadership trainings, etc)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance.

Citizenship:

• US Person under ITAR definition required (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license)
