The JBS Dinmore Processing Plant is the largest beef facility in the southern hemisphere. Located near Ipswich, in south east Queensland, the facility has a daily production ability of 3,400 cattle and employs approximately 1,500 people. Cattle are sourced from the finest cattle producing regions to produce a diverse range of pasture fed and grain beef products, from commodity to premium. About the Role
The JBS Dinmore Plant is currently recruiting a qualified Mechanical Engineering Technician to join the team in a full-time role. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, your key responsibilities will include:
Ensuring the availability, reliability and capability of the plant assets
Monitoring, following-up and addressing issues associated with the implementation and progress of planned and unplanned maintenance tasks
Ensuring the continuous improvement of plant equipment and systems
Communicating all equipment and maintenance issues with the Supervisor and management team
Understanding and implementing quality control techniques
Being actively involved with inspections of equipment undergoing rebuild or repair
Assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems
Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
This is a full-time position (short period of day shifts during the training period) with the potential to earn $100,000 plus superannuation or more with additional allowances and/or overtime.
About You
Mechanical trade qualifications and post-trade experience
Experience in maintenance/repair in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Thorough understanding of maintenance work management practices
Understanding of work planning and scheduling procedures
Experience gained from a large heavy industry organization
Attention to detail and a sense of urgency
Effective and efficient problem-solving skills
Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts (days/nights) including a possible 24/7 roster in the future
