As a Production Operative, you will join the production team where you will be working on a production line and overseeing our beverage filling machine. Reporting to the Shift Manager you will work as a team to fulfil the day-to-day production targets.

Our Production Operative use their experience on machines to ensure our production operates efficiently and deliver outputs. You will identify any machine concerns and liaise with the engineer team on more complex situations. You will oversee production changeovers, cleaning the machine to start a new beverage production, adjusting machine settings and controls for optimal performance.

NO MACHINE EXPERIENCE - Don’t worry……If you are interested but don’t have machine experience, you can still join us. We will provide all the training and get you up to speed in the first 12 months.

Production Operative: Key responsibilities:

- Operating equipment/machinery and undertaking fault finding, changeovers including CIP where relevant, asset care, and basic machine maintenance activities.
- Management of Raw Materials in accordance with FIFO and Storage Procedures.
- Reporting any non-conformances to Company Policies/Procedures/Standards and supporting corrective action activities.
- Working as a key member of a production team, demonstrating Company Values and flexibility to support other teams/departments where required.
- Ability to meet team performance targets and required Company Standards.
- Participating in traceability exercises, product trials, and site audits/visits

Following continued expansion of the capacity with the purchase of 2 further mill turn machines and another 5 axis machining centre, capabilities and an expanding order book we look forward to finding a new CNC turning setter to help them fulfil this expanding order book.

Your role as a CNC Turner Setter/Operator:

To control the production of programs and conforming parts on the machines, ensuring that the organisation meets its customers' expectations of quality and delivery within their team. To work with the Production Manager, Setter / Operators, other Operators, and others in the department in promoting a right first-time approach to all tasks within the department. To adhere to the techniques used within the business, comply with the practices used and promote a continuous improvement ethos within the business. To be willing to learn and become more skilled through training. To work within an AS9100 quality environment.

Key duties for the CNC Turner Setter/Operator:

• Set and operate a job from an existing program. Changing tool offsets, feeds, speeds etc
• Modify existing program cycles and change coordinates within programs for the CNC machines from drawings.
• Select the correct tooling to manufacture the part using the most efficient processes.
• Ability to select the correct work holding system to manufacture the parts.
• Load programs onto the machine and select the defined tooling and set it with the correct offsets.
• Conduct in process inspection of parts being produced by the machine they are setting and operating.
• Produce conforming parts to the drawings.
• Complete deburring operations as required.
• Ensure all documentation is completed accurately.
• Use the SFDC (Shop Floor Data Collection) to clock on and off the jobs accurately.
• Report non-conforming parts on SFDC and to the team leader.
• Suggest improvements to the program / tooling that will improve the productivity / quality of the parts or process.
• To be able to use all relevant Metrology Equipment.
• To be able to use CMM Measuring Equipment. (training given if required)
• Help train and mentor trainee setter/operators, operators, and apprentices where required.
• Use best practice to increase the efficiency, productivity, and quality of the programs for the machines.
• Suggest improvements to work holding, tooling, machinery and processes to increase productivity and adherence to customer requirements and satisfaction.
• Maintain the machinery as instructed.
• Work as an active team member and provide cover for other team members when required.

Requirements for the CNC Turner Setter/Operator:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience of setting and operating Fanuc CNC Lathe Controls.
• Minimum 5 years setting and operating CNC Lathes. This is a role that needs skilled programmers / setters.

* Check physical seal dimensions with various mechanical and optical measuring equipment and ensure that they are within the tolerance specified on the drawing
* Carry out batch inspection parts at regular intervals as defined in the SOP.
* Batch inspect parts for defects and dispose of any parts that do not meet parameters.
* Set and operate a number of CNC machines as required.
* Run first off's and check dimensions of the first off to drawing and make any adjustments as required.


Education and Experience:

* Previous experience with CNC turning essential.
* Knowledge of Fanuc operating system or Okuma machines desirable
* Previous experience in engineering production.
* Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and interpret the information to produce a part.
* Flexible in the ability to run numerous CNC machines and move between products and
