Our client works with fresh fruit, which are sourced, prepared, packed, delivered and ready to go on supermarket shelves within a very short time period.

Day to day:
As a Production Operative, you will be preparing the fruit using tools provided, packing fruit boxes and dispatching while maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene and security. You will be working in cool temperatures (+6 - +8). Other duties may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

Take full ownership of your role within the production process.
*Clean machinery and plant equipment - be prepared for a hands-on, physically demanding job in a dirty environment.
*Perform manual tasks such as moving products, checking concrete fence post for quality, and removing from the mould.
*Set up machinery for production - basic IT literacy required.
*Learn quickly - we don't require prior experience but expect an eagerness to listen and adapt in this niche role.
*Manage and prioritize your own workload effectively.
*Perform routine maintenance tasks, including greasing and oiling of machinery.
*Follow all health & safety, quality, and environmental standards.
*Contribute to process improvement and continuous development initiatives.
*Provide support to the production team as needed.

The Role
Our client manufacturers high quality concrete products for the building industry and they operate several production lines with for different products. Some of the products have reinforced steel in them and these have be prepared before they reach the production line. You will need to have the ability to learn new tasks and operate different equipment adhering to safety rules and regulations to be successful. As the warehouse uses wet concrete it is not a clean environment. You will need to keep your working area clean using 5S principals. Help maintain factory machinery and vehicles. Assist with daily cleaning tasks whilst working safely, following all health and safety guidelines, including proper lifting, wearing PPE, and reporting any equipment defects. Maintain the high quality of products by regularly inspecting them.
The Ideal Candidate
Ideally you will come from a background such as construction, roofing, scaffolding, groundworks or building however other backgrounds will be considered. You will need excellent time keeping and attendance with a self-motivated team focus attitude. The ability to learn about all the machines in the different departments and able to communicate with. The site is tasked to fulfil orders on output so you will need to work as a team to achieve these targets so you will need to work well under pressure.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, sharing ideas on how to improve production processes. You will need basic numeracy and literacy skills. For the right candidate after training and good attendance the role could become permanent. You will need to be physically fit for this role.
