An exciting opportunity for a CCTV Control Room Operator who will provide a safe and secure environment for all staff, tenants, visitors and contractors, following instructions from Supervisors and designated Shift Manager.
This site is located at the north of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and provides over one million sq. ft of space for creatives and digital companies. The technology and innovation campus encompasses a community of over 4,500 people working across academic institutions, corporate and a wide range of start-ups.

Position: CCTV Control Room Operator
Location: Hackney / Stratford
Pay Rate: £15.24 per hour
Hours: Average 42 hours per week
Shifts: 4 on 4 off – Days, nights & weekends
Job Requirements:
SIA Door Supervisor & CCTV Licence is required.
Minimum of 1 year experience in a CCTV Control Room environment
Knowledge and previous experience working with Genetec systems.
Excellent levels of customer service, communication & attention to detail at all times.
Excellent customer service and attention to detail skills.
Proactive & adaptable,
Strong IT skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook & Excel) and telephony skills.
Strong incident report and writing skills.
Flexible in approach to daily duties and additional events or taskings.
Adaptable to new ways of working in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
Team player who works well with others. First Aid qualification, Banksman, Fire Marshall & IOSH is a bonus.
Be confident you are able to undertake 100% of all specific duties.
Be able to provide all the documentation and vetting information requested.
Primary Responsibility: Provide a safe and secure environment for all staff, tenants, visitors, students and contractors, following instructions from Supervisors and designated Shift Manager. Be able to lead with a service excellence approach to all in line with the site Assignment Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
Duties Include:
Providing service excellence to all - to staff, students, tenants, and visitors - who attend the campus.
Overseeing fire alarm activations (must be confident in fire marshal duties as well as operating fire panels) and assisting with fire evacuations.
Regularly update all documentation and logs such as (but not restricted to) Daily / Weekly / Monthly Checks, fire log books, and electronic systems.
Manage all electronic documentation and systems, including E-DOB, Genetec, Datastation, EverBridge, SharePoint and Locale.
Operate and observe CCTV and perform CCTV patrols in compliance with best GDPR practises.
Manage the team deployment timetable ensuring Officers are deployed to correct taskings or to areas of concern / responding to suspicious activity or incidents.
Operate the access control system by printing / activating / deactivating access passes.
Complete all paperwork accurately and neatly, forwarding to the appropriate personnel as required.
Ensure accurate incident reports are completed to a high standard, including timings, names, titles, details, CCTV stills, BWC stills, statements and witness statements.
Responding to emergency situations and incidents.
Patrolling the campus (internal & external) when required.
First aid and fire marshal responders where required.
Event support when required.
Problem solving.
Assisting with last minute requests.
All duties associated with a Security Officer when required.
Job Description:
Constantly monitor CCTV for any suspicious activity and deploy Security Officers (SO) accordingly.
Consistently update E-DOB effectively and factually.
Update and assist with electronic security systems including (but not restricted to) incident reports, Genetec, Data Station, CCTV and BWC footage.
Update relevant documents including (but not restricted to) the Daily / Weekly Checks, Monthly Checks, Hand Over and fire logbooks.
CRO will manage the deployment timetable, ensuring all Officers are in designated positions at correct times.
Oversee fire alarm panels in SCR and react accordingly in compliance with the Fire Alarm and Fire Evacuation SOPs and Flowcharts.
To take all reasonable and required measures to protect venue.
To convey a smart, well-groomed appearance in issued uniform displaying a professional and approachable image in compliance with the companies’ brand standards.
To portray a friendly, professional, and courteous demeanour, using open and appropriate body language to all staff, tenants, students, visitors and contractors.
Vigilance is key in this regard. Any untoward activity and / or security related concerns must be immediately reported to Control Room Supervisor or Shift Manager.
Fire Marshal duties and responsibilities to be carried out in compliance with the site Fire Evac SOP and Fire Marshal training.
Respond to alarm activations and oversee fire panel responsibilities (such as isolations etc).
Monitor entry and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons - all untoward activity is to be monitored via CCTV and immediately reported to the Shift Manager.
Report writing (such as incidents reports) and strong data / information processing.
Carry out ad hoc requests / taskings when required.
Check equipment when issued at beginning of shift, including personal radio and bodycams.
Not to leave site or sign out unless instructed to do so by the Shift Manager, or when relieved by the oncoming CRO.
