Your new role
Ideally, provide hands-on, visible leadership of the health & Safety agenda to drive ownership and accountability for health, safety and wellbeing policies and procedures thus ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation. Provide coaching and support to assist the team in developing and maintaining the company's Health & Safety management systems in-line with accredited ISO standards. Act as the site subject matter expert and key point of contact for all H&S matters. Lead the development and implementation of H&S strategies and action plans to ensure health & Safety performance improvement. Actively lead the site on its safety journey and work closely with key stakeholders to ensure they are engaged in the safety improvement journey. Develop, promote, support, and deliver programmes to reduce the occurrence of Loss Events.·Participate and drive both pro-active and re-active H&S monitoring programmes to assist with achieving established key performance indicators. Audit, analyse and report Health, Safety and Wellbeing performance to internal and external stakeholders and regulatory bodies as required. Assist with all forms of hazard identification and risk control programmes to identify, assess, and control the businesses occupational Health & Safety risks. Design, deliver and oversee safety training programmes for employees at all levels to increase safety awareness, knowledge and engagement thus aiding them in fulfilling their Health, Safety and Wellbeing obligations. Work closely with the Safety teams across the Radius Systems Group to ensure sharing of best practice and alignment with wider company programmes.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have a proven track record in health and safety leadership with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role. You will have a NEBOSH qualified but ideally to the equivalent of NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ4 level (in health & safety). Computer literate and able to manage own workload to priorities. Have excellent written and spoken communication skills to engage with a wide range of people and to give presentations to groups in relation to health, safety, and wellbeing. Have the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels to ensure that health, safety, and wellbeing is at the forefront of all day-to-day decision making. Having patience and diplomacy are essential to ensure that operational objectives on safety, health and wellbeing are delivered in the face of potential competing priorities and have the ability to understand and analyse complex information and present it simply and accurately.

What you'll be doing;

• Support the Shift Team leader with Health and Safety matters and use Safe System Of Work effectively to ensure safety of all personnel,contractors and visitors at all times.
  
• Ensure compliance with all aspects of the site Environmental Permit.
  
• Represent Company management outside normal office hours.
  
• Operate / monitor plant from a Central Control Room, operate plant and equipment as required by the operational demands of the ERF.
  
• Provide technical supervision and assistance where necessary for Company and contract staff engaged in work at the ERF.
  
• Provide effective training and monitoring of othershift staff to ensure personnel are competent to undertake their duties.
  
• Provide effective administration and application of safe systems of work and Health And Safety policies.
  
• To be aware of and work within the Company Health & Safety, Environmental andQuality Systems.
  
• Carry out other reasonable tasks and duties as requested by management.
  

What we're looking for;

• An experienced operator from a Power station background,ideally having completed a recognised Power station Operational Apprenticeship/ Training.
  
• An understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues
  
• Knowledge of Regulatory requirements
  
• IOSH passport safely certificate or equivalent
  
• Broad experience gained through shift working in a continuous process industry,preferably in a Waste Incineration environment
  
• Ability to ensure adherence with procedures

Your new role
Based in Newry, this is a full-time permanent role in the Operations Team. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, the SHEQ Officer will have responsibility for the safety, health, environment, compliance, and quality assurance side of the business. They will manage and monitor standards, processes, training, and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety and Compliance within the company are adhered to. They will co-ordinate work systems to ensure that the products and services of the company meet the highest quality standards. They will be experienced in assessing demanding situations, identifying issues, and developing solutions that result in efficiencies, process and/or health & safety improvements. They will have 1 direct report, a Quality Inspector.Hours:

About the role
At Northumbrian Water we provide both water and sewerage services to 2.7 million
customers in the Northeast of England. This role focuses on our waste water treatment
service, aiming to enhance and protect the environment, whilst also improving the quality of
rivers and coastal waters for the benefit of wildlife and the communities we serve. We are
excited to offer you the opportunity to join our team as a Wastewater Production Operator,
where you will play a vital role in delivering this essential service.
Full training will be provided to support the successful candidate to undertake the various
technical aspects of this role. We seek someone with transferable skills which would allow
them to develop and succeed in this position. Northumbrian Water is committed to

Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for operating and controlling wastewater
treatment works and pumping stations across the Aycliffe and South Durham area. You will
carry out routine tasks to ensure that our wastewater assets are operating correctly.
Daily tasks would involve sampling and analysing the water to ensure it is treated to the
correct standards, identifying issues with equipment, and carrying out routine checks on the
assets.
You would be using data from company systems to identify trends in performance and when
issues arise, you will undertake fault-finding investigations with support from the wider Team.
During a normal day you will collaborate and communicate with a diverse range of teams to
ensure we maintain compliance with our regulatory obligations and protect the environment.

About you

interpersonal skills.
Communication is essential in this role therefore we seek someone who is an excellent
communicator, both verbally and written. You will be a good problem-solver allowing you to

The water industry is forever changing therefore you need to be adaptable in order to meet
business need.
