Role Accountabilities

The General Operator will perform day to day production duties in the manufacturing of medical device products to the required quality standards in compliance with all environmental, health and safety requirements and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Carry out all production duties as required, for example, assembling or re-working product, screening product, packing product.  The majority of work undertaken will take place in a clean-room environment.
• Ensure quality in all aspects of work by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) and maintaining compliance with all quality requirements. 
• Review own work to ensure quality standards are achieved while following cGMP.
• Complete records, documentation and training as required
• Consistently achieve targets as notified by the shift supervisor/team-leader
• Assist in the maintenance of a safe company culture by working within the company’s environmental, health and safety guidelines at all times and reporting any equipment or process problems to your supervisor

Job Description Summary

The Manufacturing Process Technician reports to the Shift Manager and will be responsible for one or more of a number of roles relating to the manufacture of sterile parenteral drugs to include but not limited to operation and set up of manufacturing equipment, processing of parts and components for manufacturing, performing transactions in electronic systems such as EBR, LIMS, SAP etc. and cleaning and sanitization of production areas.

This job specification outlines the general responsibilities associated with the role of Manufacturing Process Technician on the Amgen Manufacturing Site. The site is focused on continuous improvement of all work processes and practices and all colleagues are required to be flexible in this regard. This means that they may be asked to carry out additional work functions that are not described in this specification but are associated with their role.

Please note this is a Fixed Term Contract role for 24 months and successful candidates will be required to work a shift pattern.  Candidates must have previous aseptic experience.

Hiring Requirements:

• Manufacturing Process, Packing and Inspection Technicians are required to work a variety of shift patterns including days, 2, 3 and 4 cycle shifts.

• They will perform all operations with due care and attention and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Amgen requirements.

• They will be involved in problem solving and troubleshooting including initiation and documentation of investigations.

• They will be responsible for the performance of self-inspection Quality & Safety Audits within their functional area.

• They will be part of a learning and development program which will include annual reviews and goal setting via the Maximizing Amgen Performance (MAP) process. They will be responsible for the cross training of other colleagues.

• They will be responsible for the use, review, revision and upgrade of operational documentation and peer review of operations.

Proactively identifying operational improvement opportunities or process related issues including escalation & follow up with area Sr. Associate Tech Engineers for effective resolution and implementation.

• Contribute and assist with Corporate, FDA, IMB Auditors and other regulatory bodies during company audits.

Qualifications:

• Educated to Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent (minimum five passes including English and Mathematics required).

• A third level qualification in a relevant discipline would be an advantage.

• Applicants should have some relevant experience of operation of a manufacturing function in a sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing or similar environment.

• Be a results-oriented person with excellent organization, communication and team development skills with an ability to successfully interact with people, create a team environment and generate co-operation.

• Set up and operate production equipment, inspection, test equipment  and manual operations as per relevant SOP’s to produce products, which meet the requirements of end users, customers, regulatory authorities and the company.

• Inspect and test products and check statistical process control (SPC) outputs to ensure products are manufactured in conformance with the customer’s requirements and the Nordson Medical quality system.

• Label and pack product to customer/Nordson Medical specification.

• Maintain a culture of continuous improvement within the department. 

• Maintain work areas, equipment and supplies in a manner which conforms to the requirements of the Nordson Medical quality system, paying particular attention to the required standards of housekeeping, GMP and safety.

• Maintain product, packaging, raw material and component accountability and traceability, labelling, product and workstation identification, counts and weights in a manner which conforms to the requirements of the Nordson Medical quality system.

• Complete all  production documentation as per Nordson Medical quality system.

• Actively participate in work centre improvement groups, to improve quality, reduce costs, eliminate waste and improve working methods, conditions and communications.

• Ensure work order packages are completed in a timely and accurate manner as specified in the Nordson Medical quality system.

• Allocate and issue documentation to the work order package as per relevant Nordson Medical procedures.

• Complete and review documentation and confirm material usage as per Nordson Medical quality system.
• Adhere to safety  as per Nordson Medical safety procedures and the safety statement.

• Accurately completed timesheets.

Supervisory Role (if applicable):

• The Process Assurance Operator do not normally have any direct reports.

• In his/her absence the Technical Supervisor  or another Process Assurance Operator will deputise.

Person Specification:

• Operators should have attained pass Leaving Certificate standard.

• Medical device/pharmaceutical and/or diagnostics manufacturing experience would be very beneficial.

BPR Contract Furniture are looking for an Apprentice Sewing Machinist who can work on their own ,in a team and has a good eye for the finished work.

BPR design, manufacture and install quality furniture for businesses in both the commercial and hospitality sectors throughout Ireland. This position will involve the upholstery and re upholstery of contract, bespoke and traditional furniture.

What are we looking for after training

Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
Prepare an efficient workstation and organise workload to ensure a quick, smooth workflow.
Ability to work with different fabric types and adjust machine settings accordingly.
Strong attention to detail and quality orientated.
Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Read, interpret, and work to instructions i.e., specifications, standard operating procedures.
Ability to work as part of a sewing production team or individually, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
· Training will be provided to fully understand our use of vinyls, foams, other fabrics, etc

We have a busy upholstery department and you will be expected to work in a fast paced role and hit manufacturing targets and ensure they are produced in a timely and effective manner.
