As a CNC Operator you will:

• Set and run CNC machines to include Lathes and VMC machines
• Ensure safety within the work area

• Operate other manual equipment

What you'll need to succeed:

• Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship OR NVQ Level 3 or relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of CNC manufacturing techniques.
• Ability to set and run either milling or turning CNC machinery.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills.
• Ability to use measuring equipment accurately and repeatedly.

Experience running manual machines including lathes, drills and grinding not essential but beneficial.

Your new role
As the Production Shift Manager, you will be working on a 4on 4off basis on rotational 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm and 7pm-7am). Within this leadership role, you will be reporting to the Site General Manager whilst managing 12 direct reports, and 100 indirect reports. Within the Production Shift Manager role, you will be expected to manage performance, track KPI delivery and support in the coaching and development of your team to aid them in their career growth.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your application for this manufacturing leadership position, you must have a proven track record of managing a large team of multidisciplined individuals, including planners, operatives and engineers. You will have looked into continuous improvements previously. Ideally, you'll hold a professional accreditation certificate, but this won't be crucial to the success of your application. It would be highly beneficial to have gained an ILM (or a similar leadership qualification); in addition to this, they're ideally looking to bring in someone with experience of high-volume, low-margin manufacturing.

Job Purpose/Objectives of a Mobile Crane Operator

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities of a Mobile Crane Operator

- Work to manufacturer's instructions at all times.

- Adhere to road traffic regulations.

- Ensure PPE is worn at all appropriate times

- Conversant with the correct use of outriggers and aware they should be used on level ground.

- Set and check the functioning of the rated capacity limiter and rated capacity indicator.

- Perform the correct use of manual handling i.e. Outrigger Pans.

- Liaise with Site Manager/Project Manager upon arrival on site.

- Be able to resist pressures from other persons to carry out unsafe operations.

- Able to assimilate and apply information contained in reports and duty charts relating to the range of duties and safe use of the crane.

- Be aware of the effects of wind and other climatic effects on the crane and load.

- Able to take the action to avoid dangerous situations, including stopping operations.

- Operate fire suppressant equipment, if fitted.

- Access and depart the crane by safe use of ladders and grab rails.

- Carry out training on specific models of crane, become familiar with rigging and maintenance procedures and conversant with all crane documentation.

- Continually seek to improve the way in which the role operates within the business to achieve its objectives.

Person Specification

- Full Drivers Licence

- HGV Class C Licence

- In date Blue CPCS card with Mobile Crane Operator authorisation
