About the Role
Base Location: Havant
Salary: £23,500 - £35,300 depending on skills and experience + performance related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time, 43 hours per week | Day & Night Shift Coverage
SSEs Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) is a modern, purpose-built control room providing 24-hour coverage for the reporting and managing of all forms of security incidents. This is an excellent opportunity to join our team and play an integral part in protecting SSE's assets, monitoring over 600 intruder and fire systems, and over 4000 cameras.
In this varied and interesting role, youll ensure the smooth running of the electronic physical security systems deployed across the SSE estate in the UK and Ireland, maintaining a safe and secure working environment for all staff, contractors, and visitors. The main responsibilities of this role include:
- Monitoring SSE Estate security, handle alarms and CCTV activations efficiently, initiating relevant action plans, including contacting Police and keyholders when necessary.
- Escalating and creating work orders for engineering and defective security equipment on-site.
- Ensuring compliance with Workstructures control processes, meeting data security requirements for CCTV and Data Protection Act requests and assisting in providing CCTV footage as needed.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to enforce security, compliance, and issue reporting. Identify potential risk areas, reporting to ARC Operations Manager and relevant stakeholders, and following up on actions.
- Provide day-to-day support for ARC Systems, including PAC inquiries. Ensure 24/7 service sustainability, monitor server status, data storage, and correct system action plans, escalating any concerns promptly.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Clear, effective communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to concentrate, especially during periods of intense activity, and have excellent observation skills.
- Organised and efficient with the ability to multi-task and remain focused for long periods of time.
- The ability to evaluate a situation under pressure using good judgement skills and dynamic decision making.
- A high level of IT skill is necessary as the work involves using the CCTV and alarm handling software and equipment, as well as Microsoft Office.
