SUMMARY:
This position will supply managerial oversight of the manufacturing facility production function to include control of the production process, accurate record keeping, and general line maintenance and staffing. This position will be responsible for the daily safety of the associated team. The position must be able to effectively manage through stressful situations, and consistently make effective data driven decisions. This position will be responsible for coordinating off-shift allocation of resources to ensure schedule adherence and customer service accountability. Direct supervision of hourly manufacturing 20 to 35 FTE’s will be required at times.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe workplace and comply with all safety and regulated programs.
- Ability to make decisions effecting financial and operational performance.
- The critical ability to perform the human relations functions such as training, retaining, and counseling on personal and professional problems.
- Maintain a tracking system that assists in analyzing KPI’s such as safety, schedule adherence, cost analysis, etc.
- Ability to work interdepartmentally and provide functional influence in a group setting to ensure operational goals are achieved.
- Develop and lead peer groups through project initiatives throughout the organization directly related to the operational goals and metrics of the facility.
- Continuous development of operations strategy.
- Identify and communicate process improvement projects.
- Other duties include overseeing various processing operations and working with other supervisors in solving problems and keeping accurate and timely records. Providing continuous coaching and education on the importance of quality, food safety and compliance standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education preferred.
- Experience: Three years minimum of management/supervision experience in a manufacturing environment, food manufacturing preferred.
- Communication Skills: Requires strong written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently, and must be results oriented. Bilingual skills helpful.
- Computer Skills: Understanding of financial indicators / analysis and experienced in budget development / management. Basic personnel computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Power Point.
- Supervisory Skills: This person is responsible for supervising a group of team members who perform various production tasks or activities.
