My client specialises in manufacturing and distributing crawler systems. They are renowned for providing high quality and innovative engineered products, who manufacture for a variety of applications including construction, recycling and agricultural machinery. They are now on the lookout for a Production Manager to join their team.
You will be responsible for organising and control production to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget and to the standards prescribed in the businesses quality management system. You should critically analyse and continuously improve the processes, reducing waste in all production areas with a drive towards ensuring a safe working environment is provided at all times.
Key Responsibilities – Production Manager
• Ensure the Health and safety of all staff is of the highest priority using safe systems of work, risk assessments and other tools to promote a safety first culture within the Production team.
• Ensure that all product is built in accordance with the required quality standards and build guidelines
• Ensure daily targets and despatches are achieved in a timely manner
• Ensure key metrics are maintained including oversight of cost per unit and hours per unit metrics
• Oversight of employee training including identification of training requirements, producing training plans and delivery of training.
• Identify gaps in performance and apply corrective action through training and development where required
• Implement continuous improvement activities
• Line management of four Team Leaders with a wider Production team of approximately 30 staff.
• Line management of two Production Planning team members and working closely with Sales Planning to ensure that the schedule is delivered and adhered to.
Qualifications & Experience – Production Manager
• Proven experience of leading an assembly production environment.
• Experience working within management systems including ISO9001, 14001 and 45001
• Formal Health and Safety qualifications desired.
• Ability to leading by example to engage, motivate and direct a large team.
• Knowledge of quality systems, KPI`s and safety standards.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, problem solving and organisation skills.
• Experience with MS Office including MS Excel.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude desired.
• Experience of managing a painting facility/team desired.
