Job Summary:
The Role:
Primary function is to plan and monitor daily work operations for a team of operators. Provide direction to this team to achieve departmental and organizational goals. The supervisor is responsible for providing team leadership to this group of employees. Supports demand of the Distribution Centre.
Essential Functions:
• As Environmental Health & Safety of manufacturing personnel, ensuring that all employees are adequately trained, aware of, and complying with Company’s EHS procedures.
• Engages and participates on delivery of all the manufacturing KPI's.
• Ensures that Quality standards are achieved and maintained in the manufacturing areas.
• Ensure that training including all company policies and procedures happens according to the process instructions and that skill versatility targets are met and maintained.
• Expedites production, maximizing efficiencies in all areas including support functions,
• Manage employee Core Time and Attendance System.
• Liaise with the Inventory Controller to ensure material is transacted correctly and on time.
• Responsible for the maintaining of all Quality and Production related Documentation, training records to the required standards for all internal and external auditing including ISO9001 etc.
• Establish and encourage a strong teamwork culture within the manufacturing area.
• Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, production flow, floor layout and product quality.
• Lead and participate in cross-functional and cross-divisional process improvement initiatives.
• Participates in process troubleshooting to correct/maintain desirable product outputs/yields.
• Understands and deploys the use of Lean Manufacturing (5S) and Process Excellence (Six Sigma) principles and methods.
• Works with the technical team to coordinate equipment repair to ensure the least amount of downtime of production lines.
• Understands and uses data, key metrics and statistical information to improve process (SPC).
• Communicate & keep team updated on all matters relevant to the manufacturing area in a timely and appropriate means.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• BS/BA in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management or Logistics preferred.
• 2-3 years supervisory/people management experience, production planning experience required.
• Strong interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Good working knowledge of MRP and SAP.
• Proficient or advanced knowledge of analytical tools, specifically Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
• Self starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
• Lean Manufacturing and problem solving and investigative skills.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull 23 kg (50 pounds).
