Operate telephone switchboard to provide telephone communications for the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) including all off site community based outpatient clinic locations. The work requires:

• Work with channel partners to launch standard products portfolios and process that meets the unique needs of customer channels to drive penetration.
• Serve as a product expert for assigned in-market products, working with business stakeholders (i.e. operations, product development, carrier relations, etc.) to build expert understanding of product functionality and its role in the broader offering to customers, as well as how the product uniquely meets customer needs and is differentiated in the market.
• Support and motivate sales to communicate unique value to customers, detail features and benefits of product offering, and make pricing decisions in line with the established pricing strategy and tiers.
• Along with cross functional business partners, consistently provide customer insights back to product development counterparts to ensure pipeline of needle-mover improvements to the product portfolio.
• As part of the downstream marketing team, work collaboratively to develop the mechanisms and means to communicate insights gathered from the field to all relevant internal stakeholders.
• Develop confidence for compelling customer-facing engagement as portfolio expert. Customer engagements include, but are not limited to, select strategy/sales meetings and establishing opportunities for product development colleagues to co-create / validate products with customers.
• Monitor customer engagement and compliance to better inform effectiveness of the solutions and ensure results.
• Execute against multi-channel launch plans, marketing, and promotions strategy for new product enhancements / launches and drive growth initiatives for products post-launch, in partnership with channel marketers.
• Build resources, communications, and trainings to enable sales representatives and cross functional business teams to effectively sell the product portfolio across impacted channels.
• Facilitate validation of in market products through user-experience feedback, stakeholder analysis, competitive analysis, and positioning/value proposition.
• Strong ability to influence and work collaboratively with the cross-functional teams mentioned above to help ensure critical work efforts are prioritized with their support as champions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 3+ years experience in related field
• Familiarity with logistics
• Familiarity with agile methodology preferred
• Experience working independently, using good judgment and leadership abilities to manage short and long-term priorities and projects
• Demonstrates strong financial acumen and logical decision making in the general business environment. Understands and can demonstrate sound thought processes as it relates to pricing, deal structure and assessing financial implications
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of marketing disciplines and concepts necessary for building a business & marketing plan, this includes identifying the appropriate channels to market. Has the ability to understand market trends and competitive positioning and can establish and/or adjust the product offering
• Proficient in mining data and interpreting findings to solve problems and tell a story
• Microsoft Office experience with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Maintains a positive attitude with a focus on creative solutions and strong internal partnerships
• Ability to travel up to 10%

JOB SUMMARY

This job is accountable for the development and product management of a service and or analytic product within the organization with a unique focus on the applicable business unit.  The incumbent is the primary point of contact to agile, large cross-functional teams on behalf of the customer to identify the product requirements for development. The incumbent is accountable for the product's ability to produce business value by focusing on the translation of strategy to agile execution.  Oversees priority, scope and the validation of work that is required in order to deliver a quality product. Will need a deep understanding of the product, the market, business strategy and operating model.  Accountable for the alignment with product management leadership, direct stakeholder involvement and support of the primary business objectives for the organization.  

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prioritize and own the team backlog of the work to be performed.  Proactively identify new initiatives/themes and builds out backlog items under these new initiatives or themes based upon value.  Supports the program backlog and uses multi-directional input to refresh and clarify the backlog to drive business value. Mitigate business related impediments impacting successful team completion of product development goals.  
• Participate in the creation and communication of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap. Incorporate stakeholder feedback when needed and clearly articulates team backlog items and acceptance criteria to the team.  Represent the product in governance meetings.  
• Servant-Leader for a cross functional team or teams of indirect reports with a portfolio of several products. Ability to work with agile program and team metrics.  Empower team to manage their work by setting clear priorities and scope from the team backlog.  
• Accepts stories as “Done” from the team, ensuring that the stories have been developed, tested, and meet the defined acceptance criteria.
• Responsible for streamlining the execution of program priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the Features or components for the team.
• When called upon, works with customers to review releases and adjust development accordingly.  Maintains a clear vision on the highest value program backlog items and works closely with the team to reprioritize when needed.  Makes trade-offs and negotiates with Product Management based on team capacity to determine the backlog.
• Understands and supports prioritized Portfolio and Value Stream work by collaborating with Solution Architect, Business Architect, Product Manager and stakeholders to breakdown features into user stories.
• Collaborates with the business regarding progress and agile metrics.  Monitors outcomes, customizes and adds metrics to continuously provide stakeholders with an updated view of the product's success.  Evaluates agile metrics and discusses methodologies to deliver against outcomes.  Actively anticipates future needs and utilizes product health metrics to identify improvement opportunities.  
• Generates a high-level release plan with the team.  Continually re-prioritizes team's tasks based upon new information, discussions with stakeholders, and probability to drive business outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Discipline, Information Management OR related field
• 3 years as a Product Owner OR in Product Development & Management, Project/Program Management or Strategic Consulting

Preferred

• Master's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Discipline, Information Management OR related field
• 3 years of Analytic Consulting
• Agile certification from a known vendor (Scrum.org, SAFe, Scrum Alliance, etc.)
