Are you an apprentice trained engineer with experience managing a team and looking for a permanent night shift? We have a position for a Nightshift Assistant Supervisor to join our client, an engineering manufacturer in Leeds.

In this role, you will be working alongside another supervisor and will be managing a team of fitters, machinists, and production engineers. You will be ensuring the production schedule is adhered to and resolving any issues that may arise. A good knowledge of Health and Safety will be required, along with the ability to motivate and mentor the team. The role will be a split of managing the team and production and also "hands on" work so candidates from a fitting or assembly background will be of particular interest. Working Monday to Thursday on nights and a 37 hour week with overtime available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate the mattress tape edger machine according to production specifications and safety guidelines.

Must be able to work on a 3 or 4 shift rotating pattern with some weekend working

Must be flexible within pattern of shift work to accommodate factory shutdowns, training courses etc.

Week 1 AM shift: 06:00-14:00

Week 2 PM shift: 14:00-22:00

Week 3 Night shift: 22:00-06:00

MAIN JOB PURPOSE

The range of Machine Operator roles generally sit within the Filling, Forklift and Material Transfer, Mixer, Packing and Reporting Job Families.

The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe operation of production equipment to deliver customer requirements through completion of the production plan, adhering to quality standards and maximising cost effectiveness, optimal running and equipment efficiency.

You will be expected to carry out cleaning and inspection activities and record any issues/problems with the equipment to pass to the Technical Operator to resolve. The Machine Operator should master the operation of a series of machines in order to provide factory resilience.

JOB SUMMARY

Technical - Knowledge and application of technical skills to Operate machinery safely and effectively in order to meet the production plan. Conduct cleaning and lubrication as required

• Maintain machinery to the prescribed standards and levels of cleanliness.
• Understand properties of materials being handled. Able to perform correct adjustment and setting.
• Proactively work with Professional Maintenance and Quality Control staff to achieve zero breakdowns and zero defects.
• Carry out product and process changeovers/wash-outs to maintain quality standards whilst minimising the impact to the production plan.

Safety - Utilise all appropriate safety and environmental procedures relating to the Sourcing Unit and allocated equipment to ensure a safe working environment for the whole team. Understand the legal responsibility placed upon individuals.

• Workplace Hazards - Full knowledge of the workplace and hazards within it. Utilise all appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products and equipment relevant to the task.
• Environment - Reduce costs due to waste and minimise impact to health, safety and the environment through working to eliminate waste and through the correct management of waste and hazardous materials.

Quality - Monitors quality against set standards and reports any product and packaging faults. Detects process abnormalities quickly and takes emergency action to prevent them.

Continuous Improvement - Knowledge and understanding of the key principles of WCM and an awareness of the tools used to identify and prioritise losses in the production area and eliminate them; role requires data collection. Monitor measures and performance after initial improvements and take further action as required.

Problem Solving - A Working Knowledge of how to identify, prioritise and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques that eliminate recurrence. Must demonstrate initiative.

Decision Making - Can make decisions to reject non compliant products and to support the work plan for the day.

Teamwork - Must be a good team player capable of working within a highly effective team; responsible, supportive and able communicator.

Administration - Conducts effective hand-over activities and records accurately events that have occurred during shift (cases packed/ rejects/maintenance conducted etc).

Digital Capability - Strong understanding and utilization of SAP and other IT systems.

Physical Ability - Machine Operators require a level of agility to move quickly between workstations, ascend and descend steps. Assembly and control operations also require a level of hand eye coordination and finger dexterity.

Aftermarket Sales Representative - (UK & Ireland)

We are seeking a driven and experienced Aftermarket Sales Representative to join our clients team and play a pivotal role in growing the parts and service sales within the UK and Ireland.

Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Head of Commercial Vehicles, you will drive the parts and service sales to the bus sector within the commercial vehicles business.
• Support and maintain relationships with OEM's and bus operators to develop all potential opportunities.
• Prioritise and plan regular customer sales visits to promote service and the aftermarket business.
• Prepare quotations for customers as required. Develop and maintain market awareness to generate both new and aftermarket sales opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with the company's risk management procedure. Ensuring that the post holder is responsive to customers, providing prompt and clear answers to queries and requests.
• Assist with new business sales development as and when required by the Head of Commercial Vehicles.
• Provide and maintain a monthly summary of all customer visits and planned monthly visits.
• Represent the company professionally at trade shows and customer events.
• Undertake any other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of demonstrably successful experience in a sales or manufacturing role, ideally within the commercial vehicle sector.
• Strong technical and commercial understanding of the bus industry (or a closely related field).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and CRM proficiency.
• The ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative environment.
• A degree in Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or a related business discipline is a plus.
• Valid UK work authorisation is mandatory.

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Production Operative to join our client who is a leading global paints and coatings company. The successful candidate will actively support the team to deliver production performance targets through efficient operation of the resin plant's production equipment to meet production schedules. Products will be manufactured using production equipment in compliance with defined standard operating procedures and integrated management system procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating process vessels, pumps and other process plant equipment;
• Drive forklift trucks;
• Following batch sheets and other company procedures;
• Identifying correct raw materials and batch numbers for batch mixing;
• Ensuring batch sheets are completed accurately;
• Weighing and measuring out raw materials required;
• Operating manufacturing equipment to ensure production of batches is carried out on time and in a safe manner;
• Packaging of hazardous finished product in accordance with packing instructions;
• Undertaking all work activity with due care and attention to Health & safety and company safety procedures;

Role Requirements:

• Minimum GCSE/O Level educational standard or equivalent
• Experience working in a manufacturing role in a COMAH IPPC chemical facility regulated by both the HSE & EA preferred but not essential.
• Position requires rotational shift working so flexible working hours is a requirement (mornings, afternoons and nights).
• Basic knowledge of production / manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to learn/use IT tools including Office and SAP.
• Physically fit.
• FLT driver license is preferred but not essential. Internal training of 5 days to be provided as part of training plan.
• Willingness and ability to learn. Job holder will be training on plant for a period of at least 12 months and must demonstrate via tests and other training validation methods sufficient competence in running plant and performing as Production Operator.
