Kenect Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced candidates to work on sewing machines for our client in Aston!

The suitable candidate will be working in a fast paced environment for our company who manufacture and sell Rugs online. They will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the sewing machine. The candidate must have some sewing experience however, training will be provided.

Role details :

• General maintenance of sewing machine; starting/stopping/cleaning.
• Set up machines according to specification
• Basic machine setting, adjusting according to design fit
• Perform quality checks on patterns and materials
• Monitor machine operations
• Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
• Good attention to detail.
• Good time management and ability to meet schedules/deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work well in a team environment

Shift Pattern:

• Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5pm for initial training period
• 1:30pm-10pm when fully trained
• Overtime available paid at a premium after 40 hours per week.

Experience:

• Previous experience using a sewing machine
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Salary: £11.50

Holiday pay: Accrued

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience with sheet metal fabrication. This role involves operating press brake machinery to bend and shape metal components according to specifications, ensuring high-quality production standards are met.

Responsibilities

- Operate press brake machinery - mainly mild steel

- To able to read and interpret engineering drawings

- Set and run machinery

- Performing quality checks

- Adhering to health and safety

Experience

- Proven experience as a Press Brake Operator or in a similar role within the manufacturing sector.

- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.

- Proficiency in using hand tools and measuring instruments.

- Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations.

- Familiarity with welding processes is advantageous but not essential.

- Experience working with sheet metal is highly desirable.

3-week rotating shifts 06:00 - 14:00 - 14:00 - 22:00 and 22:00 - 06:00

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operates printing press
• Reviews job requirements to understand the scope and parameters of print jobs.
• Prepares, aligns, and configures machinery, ink, rollers, and paper.
• Inspects proof sheets to evaluate the quality of printing.
• Adjusts press machinery to meet quality standards and specifications.
• Maintains inventory of supplies needed to operate printing presses.
• Troubleshoots issues with printing press and makes basic repairs.
• Performs routine maintenance on presses.
