The role:
As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join a friendly and motivated team of people who are proud to ensure that our work is compliant and safe.

Day-to-day, the Radioactive Waste Team is focused on site wide waste demand, governance, project integration and technical support to the business.

• This role is to support the management of several projects across the Radioactive Waste Management Organisation's Devonport site.
• Supporting the development and update of programmes and financially managing each project at all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain a strong and open relationship with key stakeholders identified for the project and pursue resolution of technical or conflicting project requirements so a full understanding of the requirements can be agreed.

• To develop Statements of Requirements and evaluate tender responses, make written recommendations to assist with the selection of competent contractors for the supply of equipment/services.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working.

Essential experience of the Assistant Project Manager:

• Relevant experience within a project management delivery environment.
• Able to demonstrate a good level of organisation with the ability to self-manage and produce information and output reports.
• Has a good knowledge of APM philosophy and is an advance user of Microsoft Office suite of software.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with stakeholders.

Qualifications for the Assistant Project Manager:

The Role
As a Project Accountant, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Providing accurate and timely financial information and advice relating to all areas of responsibility to Business Unit and Project Managers to enable them to exercise effective financial control over the area to maximise value for money, cashflow and profitability.

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for the production and analysis of accounts in accordance with the issued monthly timetable, as well as maintaining the integrity of data that supports the accounts maintaining full audit trails for both internal and external audit purposes:

• Production of monthly Project Status Packs for management reviews in conjunction with the respective Project Teams. These packs are also to be prepared on a quarterly basis for Senior Management review.

• Production of Cost Certificates / statements for MoD in accordance with the contract terms and conditions.

Essential Experience of the Project Accountant

Scope of the role

To ensure Purchase orders are in place for finished goods, components and raw materials, to be received in time or suitably stocked so that works orders and sales orders are fulfilled to customer requirements. As a planner/buyer will focus on placing orders, communications and chasing vendors to keep late backlog to a minimum, as well as necessary expediting activities.

Main responsibilities include.

• Support all sourcing activities including the timely placing of Purchase orders using ERP/MRP planning methods
• inventory and safety stock levels, with a view to maximising service performance with most effective use of capital.
• Drive and support continuous improvement improving service, and cost.
• Ensure all purchase orders raised reflect demand and forecasted requirements against agreed stock levels and order quantities using Lean Plan for every part (PFEP) techniques.
• Confirm purchase order and maintaining Vendor promise dates in the Electronic system so that Sales order dates maintained to latest promise.
• Daily external supplier relationship in addition to, and including, internal sales, customer service, operations and supply chain department interactions.
• Review customer order book and expedite supplier purchase orders to ensure Sales order shipped on time. In this business know as Line Item Shipped Complete (LISC)
• Track supplier's delivery performance and communicate late deliveries based on business risk and impact to customer shipments.
• Review supplier order acknowledgements for accuracy and action as necessary
• Monitor outstanding deliveries against delivery date.
• Expedite with suppliers when required and communicate all potential issues to internal customers/stakeholders.
• Resolve supplier invoicing queries, including unit cost, quantity received, freight charges and part number.
• Support planning/purchasing activities of other departments as necessary, generally during holiday/absence coverage.
• Creation and reintroduction of new and approved suppliers (critical/non- critical).
• Key stakeholder management with Engineering, Production, intercompany sales and operations functions.
