This is a 12-month contract role.
Shipping and Maritime is Shell’s centre of expertise for all Shipping and Maritime matters. Enabling Shell’s customer facing businesses through Maritime HSSE, operational excellence, commercial delivery, ship management, maritime risk management, emergency response, localised maritime knowledge and relationships, and technology development, innovation & digitalisation. Our team of experts lead industry coalitions in maritime safety, shipping decarbonisation, and port and operational efficiencies. Our global maritime activities we are involved in include approx. 1200 Shell mariners serving in 25 Shell Managed Oil/Chemical, LNG and H2 vessels; over 60 Long Term Chartered LNG carriers including the largest and most technically sophisticated in the world, 200 crude and product ships, 400 Spot Chartered ships and 500 coastal and river barges, 50 drilling rigs and ships, together with maritime assurance and advice for FLNG, FPSOs, FSRUs, SBMs, and some 300 supply boats, anchor handlers, and tugs. As Business Development Executive, you will be providing commercial advice with both a short term and long-term perspective, freight economics, market analysis and modelling solutions to the Businesses for a wide range of existing projects and new business developments.
• Lead commercialisation of new shipping technology (solutions) into commercially viable constructs that can help the Group’s businesses achieve its objectives.
• Support Shipping & Maritime commercially in the execution of maritime solutions for the region.
• Develop and provide market intelligence feedback to project teams in the development of integrated maritime solutions.
• Lead negotiations with shipowners and other vendors in the implementation of integrated maritime solutions
Requirements
• University degree, MBA preferred
• At least 10 years of deal making experience in identifying, maturing, negotiating complex deals to close
Skills and Competencies Required
• Proven commercial deal delivery and opportunity identification experience
• Understanding of deal economics, specifically shipping economics modelling
• Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams
• Comfortable with ambiguity
• Able to work in a dynamic environment and agile in adapting to changing factors
• Understanding of the corporate complexities and sensitivities in dealing with various internal and external parties including governments
• Experience in the shipping and maritime industry will be an advantage
