As part of our Major Frameworks team, you'll play a hands-on role in supporting the pre-contracts team with PQQs and tenders, offering valuable insights into buildability, health and safety, and tender programme development. The duties of the Project Manager role will include:

We are looking to recruit into a 12 month fixed term post to support the Targeted Lung Health Check (TLHC) pathway.

With the additional demand on lung cancer services as a result of the TLHC rollout, it is recognised that additional capacity is required in lung diagnostics, in particular CT Guided Biopsy. In the TLHC business case, we committed to an additional 228 CT guided biopsies per year. With the recruitment of a Clinical Fellow to support a short-term increase in capacity, we are looking for an experienced project manager to work towards a long-term solution by monitoring sector wide utilisation of this key diagnostic with the potential for a networked approach to access.
• Responsible for the development, delivery and coordination of the Targeted Lung Health Check (TLHC) pathway.
• Establish and agree SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bound) objectives with their team(s) and the Work stream Lead in order to ensure first time, on time delivery of projects.
• Communicate highly complex, sensitive and contentious information on the progress of the projects to key stakeholders across North West London (NWL).
• Liaise closely with all NWL organisations and other relevant groups and ensure that the project reflects current good and evidence-based principles.
• Facilitate meetings of clinicians, managers, patients and other partners to agree priorities and action plans.
• Maintain a balanced, delegated budget for the project, including appropriate understanding and implementation of standard financial instructions.
• Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive and contentious information relating to the project.
• Encourage creative thinking and innovative practice as well as developing robust methods of testing new ways of delivering patient care utilising expert knowledge of good practice tools and techniques such as process mapping, PDSA cycles and Impact Analysis Frameworks.

Clinical Practice To adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times To work in close liaison with the paediatric bed manager and other neonatal units to ensure the smooth transition of care during discharge. To oversee and manage the Neonatal Unit in-reach clinic. To be aware of the transfers out of King's College Hospital neonatal unit and liaise with the other units in transferring babies back to local hospitals Be aware of individual family dynamics, social and cultural diversity. Provide information and support to parents/carers as appropriate, following consultation with members of the multi-disciplinary team. Ensure neonatal screening processes are up to date and clear records kept within a timely fashion with the sister-in-charge of special care and other discharge facilitators ensure that staff maintain accurate records, reflecting both changes in the patients condition and the treatment delivered. To ensure parents and carers receive health education and advice to maintain/achieve a healthy lifestyle. To be aware of the Trusts safeguarding policies and procedures and demonstrate ability to effectively raise concerns and work closely with the Trusts safeguarding team and other agencies to protect children. Take an active role in the units safeguarding meetings. Management To actively support the implementation of the Trust and Child Health nursing strategy and uphold the ethos of the local philosophy. To take an active role in the parent satisfaction survey ensuring all parents have access to reporting their stay and writing action plans to improve the care provided on the neonatal unit. To be flexible in the work schedule in order to provide cross cover where and when needed. To take direct managerial responsibility for the clinical area in the absence of a senior sister or as delegated by the Senior Nurse Develop an understanding and cooperation between the acute and primary care interface of service provision as well as other agencies where appropriate. To co-ordinate and oversee Bliss and Kings Volunteers. To liaise with Transitional care on the postnatal ward and facilitate training of Neonatal Unit staff allocated to work there. To contribute positively towards the delivery of a cost effective service, adjusting staffing levels to meet demand and assisting the Modern Matron to keep within agreed sources. To act as a positive role model to junior staff members and ensure the management of the special care area is maintained at all times by direct and indirect supervision of the sister-in-charge of the area. To act as a team leader to an identified group of staff, monitoring and documenting the development of their clinical skills. To make a positive contribution to service development affecting the clinical area and positively influence others to adapt to change. To carry the Unit bleep as required, resolving local problems/ conflicts, keeping managers/others informed and maintaining positive team dynamics in the unit at all times. Ensure compliance with the Trusts Equality and Diversity Policy, supporting the delivery of the Trusts Race Equality Scheme and the Trusts duty to positively promote race equality and equality of opportunity for disabled people ensuring services are responsive to the needs of equality groups Education and Research To act as a mentor to junior staff members, responsible for the orientation, supervision and ongoing development of junior and student nurses and midwives, in conjunction with Line Manager and Practice Development staff. To act as a mentor to staff and students undertaking further education as requested, ensuring a positive learning experience and facilitating the development of their clinical skills, completing competency documents. To contribute to the wider educational activities within the Care Group ensuring attendance at and contributing to the delivery of educational activities to the Multi-disciplinary team within the Care Group. To participate in any research projects conducted in the clinical area as appropriate To assist in the development of policies and protocols within the clinical area and support the continuous quality improvement by audit and surveys and implement changes in the light of findings. To ensure that practice is evidence based and that clinical guideline standards and policies are implemented and to be actively involved in auditing practice in conjunction with the senior nursing team To act as a clinical resource within the Unit and across the Care Group as necessary.
