Global Process Lead – Financial Planning & Analysis

Here at Serco, we are seeking an experienced Global Process Lead to support the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in driving a transformational roadmap aligned with Serco’s broader strategic vision. You will lead cross-functional initiatives to improve FP&A capabilities, focusing on automation, digital transformation, and data-driven insights, ultimately elevating the efficiency of forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes. A key aspect of this role will be the implementation of S/4 HANA, SAP’s latest enterprise resource planning software, to revolutionise the financial systems and processes.
In this key role, you will have full accountability for the global FP&A process, ensuring that defined outcomes from the Global Process Owner (GPO) and heads of FP&A are delivered effectively. You will be empowered to resolve issues, drive continuous improvements, and embed yourself in the end-to-end process, ensuring success at every level.
As part of this, you will:
- Act as the vital link between our offshore BPO partner and the business, ensuring global process standardisation and the delivery of key requirements.
- Lead the FP&A transformation roadmap, focusing on S/4 HANA implementation, driving automation, advanced analytics, and process improvements that enhance forecasting and budgeting.
- Collaborate with business leaders to align FP&A processes with strategic objectives.
- Manage major FP&A improvement projects, with a strong focus on system upgrades, process optimisation, predictive analysis, and the transition to S/4 HANA.
- Engage proactively with stakeholders to ensure continuous process improvement and the effective rollout of S/4 HANA.
- Research emerging FP&A trends and best practices to ensure Serco's financial planning processes remain ahead of the curve. Proposes the introduction of new methodologies that improve data-driven decision-making and forecasting accuracy.
- Play an active role in modernising the monthly FP&A process with a focus on leveraging S/4 HANA capabilities.
- Manage communication around forecasting and budgeting processes.
What you'll need to do the role:
- You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with demonstrable experience in leading finance transformation projects within a similar industry.
- Extensive end-to-end knowledge of FP&A processes, including forecasting and budgeting.
- Experience with S/4 HANA implementation is highly desirable, alongside digital transformation, advanced FP&A tools, and financial modelling.
- Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and drive cross-functional improvements.
- Experience working in large, multi-site global organisations, ideally within shared services or BPO environments.
- Excellent project management skills, including reporting and risk management in the context of large-scale transformation initiatives.
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
