What you’ll be doing
You will provide clear leadership and coordination for all activities involved in the full life cycle delivery of assigned major contracts. Who you are

What you will be doing

You'll collaborate with the Senior Construction Logistics Manager and Senior Logistics Operations Manager to develop a feasible logistics plan that addresses capacity constraints. Working with the Head of Logistics, you'll recommend a long-term logistics baseline and manage the Logistics Capacity leads to ensure accurate data inputs into the plan. You'll also partner with functional data owners to maintain data accuracy and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party logistics partners. This is your chance to be part of a significant project shaping the future of the French energy market and nuclear sector: a program that will focus on building three pairs of reactors across France.
As part of the EPR2 project, you’ll have the unique opportunity to work on a large-scale program, on an industrial, technical, and human level. You will initially join EDF Energy UK to spend a few years at the HPC site in the south-west of England. Afterwards, you’ll join the EDF SA (France) team in charge of building the EPR2 site in Penly.
Both sites will give you an opportunity to oversee activities within your area of expertise, and make sure project objectives are met to the highest standards.

What you will be doing…

You will act as the primary contact for contract holders regarding all matters relating to delivery and safety. Your responsibilities will include the following activities:


- Prepare field reports and anticipate logistical and regulatory issues (in particular).
- Support the monitoring process — which includes drafting monitoring programs and guides, assisting controllers — ensuring compliance with security, safety, and quality requirements, and monitoring the documentation issued by contract holders.
- Ensure adherence to these monitoring programs.

Role Overview

We are looking for a project engineer within the commissioning business unit the successful candidate will have experience of managing a scope of work from pre operations from concept to completion, with a construction background, and a good understanding of procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with day-to-day activities required to deliver work in line with the project plan including safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives. Working with and supporting a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a common objective.
• Working with the Project Manager to define the work scope to be delivered within the contract or package of work and the interfaces to the other elements of the programme.
• Delivery of assigned small projects, jobs and tasks ensuring that the work is conducted in a safe, timely and effective manner in line with the relevant procedures.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including Project Definition Document, Project Brief, Quality Plans, and other documents as required.
• Developing and executing effective execution strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan (PEP), setting out how the programme of work will be manages, organised and executed. The PEP sets out the 'why', 'what', 'how', 'when' and 'who' for the delivery of the programme.
• Maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders and executing the project or PEP strategies within their contract or package of work
• Under the guidance and direction of the Project Manager drive the delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements. Monitor and manage the progress of the programme - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters.
• Anticipate, manage and resolve issues within the contract or package. Identify risks and facilitate the resolution of all issues raised, develop and update the programme budget, and escalate any issues to the Project Manager
• Facilitate and chair project meetings and regular progress meetings as required by the Project Manager
• Ensure that contract or package contractual requirements are fulfilled.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all project team members
• Identifying, implementing and complying with applicable safety, environmental and quality standards, company procedures and policies and other relevant legislative and regulatory requirements

The CommOps Business Support will administrate the effective and efficient provision of professional support services to a CommOps Programme Area and the wider management team. The job holder is expected to act primarily on their own initiative ensuring the smooth operation of the office and effectively managing senior stakeholder requirements. Contextual Information

CommOps is comprised of the Commissioning Directorate and the Pre-Operations Function.

The role of Commissioning is to design and undertake tests, to determine if components and systems are capable of safe and reliable operation. To ensure that the plant can meet the business plan objectives and to hand over the station for commercial operations. Commissioning is comprised of Delivery, Authority, Operations and Maintenance.

The role of Pre-Operations is to ensure that the people are trained and that the equipment, facilities and documentation are ready for when the site starts generating electricity. Pre-Operations comprises of five programmes: Operations, Engineering, Work Management, Performance Improvement, and the Technical and safety Support Programme.
