You will ideally have a background in Local Plans and be willing to provide leadership to the service to ensure the Local Plan makes effective progress. We want an individual who demonstrates a high level of drive and ambition and enjoys working with a diverse set of strategic planning matters. Do you have experience of working in a school environment, excellent organisation and communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines? We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced School Business Manager with an excellent understanding of school operations to join our join our friendly and successful large primary school.

The successful candidate will be expected to either hold or be prepared, within the first year, to achieve the Certificate in School Business Management (CSBM) or Level 5 Diploma for School Business Leaders (DSBM) or an equivalent qualification

We are looking for someone to provide vision, knowledge and expertise in all areas of administration, procurement, resource management and strategic planning for our school.

The position is for 37 hours a week, although flexible working would be considered.

The core purpose of the role will be to:

• Lead and manage the school's finances, including budget setting and monitoring.
• Manage the school's contracts and premises; overseeing maintenance and improvement programmes.
• Be responsible for HR functions within the schools, payroll submissions, and recruitment.
• Ensure accurate financial, HR and training records are maintained
• Complete and submit statutory financial returns.
• Advise the SLT and Governors on all financial, premises and HR matters.
• Line manage premises staff including appraisals.

The successful applicant will have:

• Experience of managing school finances, administration, management information.
