Position Title: Project Director

About the Role:
Randstad are working with a market leader in the water industry and are searching for an experienced Project Director to join their leadership team. In this role, you'll report directly to the Framework Director, overseeing the strategic direction, coordination, and successful execution of projects to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion a culture of exceptional safety and quality standards among direct workforce and subcontractors
- Implement and uphold the Business Management System (BMS) throughout all project stages, ensuring compliance from tender handover to project completion
- Cultivate strong client relationships at various levels, maintaining company reputation and fostering collaboration with joint venture partners and suppliers
- Ensure adequate personnel resources are available for project requirements and that they understand their roles and responsibilities
- Develop and oversee project plans, including the approval of Project Execution Plans (PEPs), and monitor project progress to achieve timely completion
- Coordinate the preparation and approval of detailed construction plans and method statements prior to project commencement
- Oversee the completion of all project records as outlined in the PEP and identify and address any site non-conformities
- Manage all commercial aspects of projects proactively, providing accurate forecasts and estimates
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of technical disciplines relevant to water and wastewater design and construction projects
About the Candidate:
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in project management, preferably in multi-disciplinary design and construction projects within the water industry
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in construction, commercial, or engineering-related discipline
- Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent certification
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards
- Extensive expertise in project delivery, with strategic, operational, technical, and management capabilities
- Familiarity with Construction Contracts, particularly NEC and/or IChemE, including negotiation and administration skills
Desirable:
- Experience in water and wastewater treatment plants
- Chartered status with an engineering, commercial, or construction institution
- NEC Project Manager Accreditation
