Job Summary

The Project Manager ensures that Flowserve meets our commitments on complex aftermarket orders related to repairs, upgrades, hydraulic rerates, and maintenance of rotating pumps and equipment for our customers in industries such as oil, chemical, pharmaceutical, municipal water/wastewater, and power. These complex projects involve technical challenges, substantial risk, and multiple service centers, and they may cross state and international boundaries. The position reports to the Services & Solutions Manager of Project Management, North America and the position is located in Rancho Dominguez, CA facility.

Responsibilities

• Leads kickoff meetings and phase gate meetings to coalesce strategies into actions. Identifies stakeholders and analyzes their expectations. 

• Proficient at contract review documentation and make sure it reflects what has been negotiated and ensure successful execution throughout the project lifecycle.

• Assists the project team to develop the scope of supply, to translate work breakdown structure into an activity-based schedule and to identify the critical path.  Helps the team to prepare key project management documents.

• Communicates project specifications, terms and conditions to key suppliers.

• Leads project review meetings and collaborates with all disciplines during the project, including engineering, operations, and sales, to ensure that Flowserve delivers on-time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• Maintain a positive customer experience while tracking progress towards budget objectives. Monitors our on-time invoice submissions and cash collections.

• Develops communication plans.  Gathers and integrates reports, data, and information to communicate regular, accurate status and forecasts to all stakeholders, including customers.  Presents project progress to management on a routine basis.

• Identifies and manages risks by ensuring contingency plans are established for all key milestones and triggered if necessary.  Ensures that contract changes are documented, approved, and integrated into the project plans. 

• Captures lessons learned as they occur, then documents and shares them with stakeholders.

• Demonstrates a commitment to effective, standardized project management.  Motivates, coaches and influences team members to learn and use project management tools and to follow best practices. Engages personnel at Flowserve’s service centers to actively participate in project teams and to assist project management efforts.

• 20% overnight travel may be occasionally required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. An equivalent of education and experience may be considered.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in rotating or fixed equipment and/or equipment packages will be required.

• 2+ years of experience in project management or related order fulfillment role within a manufacturing environment is required. 

• Deep understanding of project management concepts, with a high proficiency in project management tools and software.

• Deep understanding of the Root Cause Analysis, warranty process and natural drive towards quality.

• Strong understanding of how documents, materials, parts flow through the manufacturing environment.

• Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak and communicate effectively with various audiences at the site level. Capacity to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors and managers at multiple levels of the organization.

The general function of this position is performing project management duties for repair orders from customer inquiry through invoicing. The project manager position is responsible to analyze, quote, process and coordinate orders with the customers, shop operations, engineering and sales, while ensuring total quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability per company guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain required data to properly prepare repair quotations, including required scope, cost, pricing, lead-times, available resources, etc.

• Ensure that once quotation becomes an order, job is implemented properly.  This, including placing correct parts orders, writing accurate and detailed work scopes, and making sure all other required resources are available throughout job duration.

• Help to promote future business opportunities through customer satisfaction with all phases of their experience with Elliott.

• Properly analyze inspection reports in order that correct actions are taken. This should lead to orders that enable us to reach established profit goals and create customer satisfaction.

• Maintain communications on all orders, including formal written communications, schedule and direct customer meetings, hold review meetings with shop personnel with regards to order status, and maintain communication with sales and management.

• Project management and engineering.  Projects will range from simple single-stage industrial equipment to complex multi-stage engineered apparatus.

• Order maintenance, including acknowledgment letters, accounting interface, maintaining job folders, closing out jobs, preparing information for invoicing and filing.

• Process and issue final reports to customers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in engineering. Experience in repair of turbomachinery in lieu of engineering background will be considered.

• Project management certification is a plus.

• Candidate must be mechanically inclined and possess effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Candidate should be self-motivated with the ability to handle difficult situations and demanding deadlines.

Support Project Management team with the deployment of Optical systems solutions.

SCOPE

• As part of the Major and Markets franchise, the role of Engineering PM is to provide support for technical related matters relative to implementation of optical networks and reconfiguration services.
• Product line includes Optical 6500 Layer 0, Layer 1, and Layer 2.  RLS (Reconfigurable Line system), ELS, Waveservers, Waverouters etc.

The capabilities of the Integrated Access Strategy (IAS) group, within the Global Value & Access function (GV&A), positions Amgen for future success against this business-critical imperative. This team is responsible for strategic planning of value and access for all Amgen molecules in development, beginning in Phase I-II and extending throughout commercialization across the Amgen portfolio. This work also includes lifecycle planning and access support for top 10 markets for selected in-the-market products. Additionally, the team is responsible for global strategic pricing, including recommendations for global price bands and indication/country launch sequence.

In this vital role you will report to the bemarituzumab Access Strategy Lead within the Oncology IAS team. The Value & Access Senior Manager role will support launch execution across top 10 markets, the global pricing and access strategy definition for the asset, as well as lifecycle planning and optimization for future indications. This role is global and strategic in nature and the Value & Access Senior Manager will interact cross-functionally within a variety of teams and in close collaboration with the HEOR, Operational Pricing Teams, Center for Observational Research (CfOR), Medical and Marketing counterparts. In addition, the Senior Manager will work closely with access leads in the top 10 Countries and be responsible for facilitating the Global Access Team (GAT) forum. In addition to product-specific responsibilities, the Senior Manager may participate in one or more portfolio projects to support the Oncology franchise with respect to developing a deeper understanding of the latest payer trends and health systems evolution. Such projects will require working cross-functionally within Amgen to further organizational goals within the Oncology franchise.

• Support global launch activities for the top 10 markets including planning and updates of access materials for affiliates such as refinement of the Global Value Story and Objection Handler, pricing guidance materials, negotiation frameworks etc.
• Run and facilitate the Global Access Team forum and ensure standard process sharing across top 10 markets and insights gathering to inform access, pricing and payer evidence strategy refinement for the asset
• Support Pricing Governance for top 10 markets including development and preparation of regional and global pricing business cases
• Support launch execution across top 10 markets including Response to Question (RTQ) support in collaboration with HEOR
• Maintain the GV&A launch tracker and coordinate updates and refinements with top 10 markets and regional value & access leads
• Support forecast / LRS for LCM indications and review top 10 markets pricing/access assumptions for in-line indications
• With the ASL, conduct situation analysis and payer/pricing research of external pricing and reimbursement environment regarding different LCM indications, and synthesize relevant information to develop strategic recommendation for the Product Team
• Support franchise level initiatives to develop the oncology market and optimize Amgen’s oncology, with a focus on payers & policy makers
• The role may involve travel (less than 5% domestic and international).

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of payer, market access and/or analytics experience

Or

Master’s degree and 4 years of payer, market access and/or analytics experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of payer, market access and/or analytics experience

Or

Associate’s Degree and 10 years of payer, market access and/or analytics experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of payer, market access and/or analytics experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Launch experience, preferably in Oncology
• Previous international (ex-US) assignment at country, regional or global level
• Demonstrates a high degree of responsiveness to affiliate partners
• Understanding of the payer environment in major countries, including coverage and reimbursement, pricing, health technology assessment, and health care policy
• Ability to review clinical and health economic literature, including disease state information, clinical trial design and results, and pharmacoeconomic studies, in order to understand implications for value to payers
• Translates complex situation and pricing analyses to effectively communicate impact to Amgen business
• Demonstrates a high degree of responsiveness to affiliate team members
• Demonstrated ability to plan strategically, identify strategic options and trade-offs
• Manages in a highly fluid, interactive, matrixed environment and build strong, successful business partnerships with affiliate and global colleagues
• Delivers individual results and results through others
• Displays self-awareness and a high level of EQ

The Associate Project Manager will plan, direct, and ensure the successful outcome of pump orders utilizing the assigned project teams, as well as standards, practices, and toolsets established within Flowserve. You will work directly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all pump project activity is regularly reported to the client and performed as per agreed technical specifications and project terms and conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate ownership and accountability for total project execution, performance, and safety (project initiation to project completion) on all assigned projects.

• Drive improved customer relationships through creating a work environment that is free of unfavorable circumstances or perceptions for either party, that meets or exceeds performance expectations of the customer.

• Ensure a "clean order" before commencement of work on an assigned project and utilize the change management system to control the scope of work and associated cost, throughout the life of the project.

• Coordinate activities of all matrix reports (per Project).

• Responsible for managing spending expectations on each assigned Project.

• Communicate to all concerned parties project milestones, status updates, as well as any existing or potential customer escalation issues. Follow the right escalation processes and take overall ownership of all reports.

• Experience in program/project management.

• Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills, including meeting and workshop facilitation experience

• Team building, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills

• Experience using Microsoft Office, Oracle, Document Managing Systems.
