Job Summary: Lead business development, operational efficiency, and contract management for the practice. Support and over see the Practice Manager in the smooth running of day-to-day operations. Focus on securing new contracts, tendering and bidding, and developing new services. Oversee financial management, including payroll and NHS pensions. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards while driving the strategic growth of the practice. Key Responsibilities: Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships with NHS bodies, local authorities, and private healthcare providers. Develop and diversify income streams through new service lines aligned with the practice's goals. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Operational Management: Support the Practice Manager in the day-to-day management of the practice to ensure efficient service delivery across departments. Assist in implementing best practices in resource management, cost control, and operational processes. Collaborate with the Practice Manager to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements. Manage IT systems, facilities, and administrative functions to support smooth operations. Contract and Financial Management: Work with the Practice Manager to oversee all contracts, negotiating favourable terms and ensuring timely renewals. Monitor contract performance and ensure adherence to agreed standards. Assist in overseeing financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow. Prepare financial reports for review by practice partners or the board. Lead payroll processing and administer NHS pensions, ensuring compliance with regulations. Tendering and Bidding: Lead the preparation and submission of tenders and bids for new contracts. Conduct market research to identify new opportunities for the practice. Collaborate with the Practice Manager, clinical, and administrative teams to develop competitive proposals. Track and report on the progress of bids and potential contracts. Support to the Practice Manager: Act as a key point of support for the Practice Manager, assisting with operational challenges and strategic planning. Provide leadership in the Practice Manager's absence, ensuring continuity of operations. Assist in staff management, including recruitment, training, and performance reviews. Support the Practice Manager in maintaining compliance with HR policies, regulatory standards, and patient care quality. Leadership and Human Resources: Provide leadership and support to all staff, fostering a positive work environment. Assist the Practice Manager in overseeing recruitment, onboarding, and performance management. Ensure compliance with HR policies and employment law in collaboration with the Practice Manager. Manage employee relations and resolve HR issues in partnership with the Practice Manager. Patient Services and Quality Assurance: Ensure high standards of patient care and lead patient engagement initiatives in collaboration with the Practice Manager. Implement quality assurance processes to improve service delivery and outcomes. Manage patient feedback and complaints, using insights to enhance services. Ensure compliance with clinical governance and regulatory requirements alongside the Practice Manager.
