Responsibilities:
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, fostering loyalty and long-term partnerships.
- Proficient knowledge and experience in managing imports and exports operations.
- Take the lead in engaging with managing strategic customer interfaces.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration with carrier contacts and monitoring on the performance of carriers.
- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance ocean import/export operational procedures.
- Map company process flows and continuously review to identify efficiency gains.
- Establish and manage relationships with origin counterparts and destination partners.
- Strategically grow a network, lead negotiation of rates and contracts with ocean carriers.
- Help resolve issues with steamship lines, ports and container freight stations, and carriers.
- Stay current with developments and changes in applicable laws, regulations and other government requirements.
- Oversee compliance with applicable regulations, other government requirements and filings, and company standards.
Skills required:
- The candidate should have at least a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, and/or Logistics.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Ocean freight forwarding industry, with at least 3-4 years in a managerial role, is required for this position.
- The candidate should possess an operational and commercial excellence mindset.
- Strong industry knowledge, understanding of market trends, and logistics requirements are essential.
- The candidate should be results-oriented and have the drive to grow an international freight forwarding business.
- Self-starting and hands-on problem-solving skills are required.
- Excellent communication skills are necessary, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse cultures.
- Applicant must be eligible to work in Malaysia legally
