What is the Role?
SSER have a strong pipeline of projects as part of our ambitious £12.5bn net capital investment plan. This new programme will see SSE enable delivery of over a quarter of the UK's 40GW wind target by 2030 supporting progress towards net zero.
As a Supply Chain Plan Project Manager in the Renewables business, you will be expected to manage the delivery of Supply Chain Plans or Sustainable Industry Reward proposals across development, writing, submission, and implementation, ensuring successful plans or proposals are available to support bids into relevant Allocation Rounds for CfD (Contract for Difference) and are protected for the duration of the contract. You will demonstrate value leadership, customer service and take full ownership of the plans or proposals to support the vision in becoming a world class provider of procurement and commercial services and embed a consistent approach to ensure successful participation in Capacity auctions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for managing project Supply Chain Development Statement (SCDS) commitments and relationship with Crown Estates Scotland (CES) and providing updates on progress at key milestones. Work closely with supply chain companies and academia to create compelling projects that support the implementation of commitments made in the ScotWind leasing application.
- Responsibility of managing the relationship between SSER and the Strategic Investment Model working group, facilitating delivery of the commitments agreed in the Collaborative Framework Charter in line with the Strategic Investment Assessment recommendations. Support the assessment of collaborative industry UK supply chain and infrastructure projects.
- Responsibility for understanding the latest UK Government policy for projects to be eligible to enter CfD Allocation Rounds with Supply Chain Plans or Sustainable Industry Reward proposal requirements and assessing the opportunities for individual projects throughout the development phase of a project. Supporting assessment of future policy consultations and lobbying efforts around these.
- Managing the delivery of a Supply Chain Plan or Sustainable Industry Reward proposals for SSE Renewables Offshore Projects through to relevant DESNZ- CfD Allocation Round or other jurisdictional requirements. Taking ownership, monitoring and ensuring delivery of the targets and actions set out in the plans for Projects and Tier 1 contractors: establishing robust monitoring and management reporting processes.
- Coordinate events such as 'meet the buyer', Supply Chain Briefing, Operations and Innovation events, working with external stakeholders and Tier 1 suppliers to maximise relevant attendance and positive outcomes.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Ideally this role would suit a person with a Supply Chain or Project Management background who has the ability to manage relationships across key stakeholders, influence decision making and meet strict deadlines.
- Knowledge of the Wind Energy Industry would be advantageous but not essential.
- Knowledge of DESNZ Supply Chain Plan or Sustainable Industry Reward proposal requirements would be advantageous but not essential.
- Experience of working with Scottish and UK Government departments would be advantageous.
