We are seeking a skilled Senior Planner for our client, for a full-time permanent role based in either Adlington or Sunderland. This role offers an attractive salary and benefits package working for an engineering and projects delivery business specialising in design, installation, project management and consultancy.
You will be ensuring all project deliverables are identified and planned to meet contractually agreed milestones. Strong communication, teamwork, customer focus, adaptability, commitment to self-improvement, and efficient task delivery are essential for success.
Key responsibilities:
• Coordinating and leading planning sessions with project managers
• Working with department managers and stakeholders to understand resource availability
• Conducting project schedule, critical path, and schedule risk analysis
• Facilitating regular schedule reviews to update progress and address risks
• Monitoring and communicating potential project delays
• Re-baselining schedules in the event of scope changes
• Preparing and updating progress reports for project managers and clients
• Analysing deviations from baseline impacting resource utilisation
• Collaborating with stakeholders, clients, contractors, and subcontractors
• Liaising with sales and proposals to align bid activity with resource planning
• Reporting on the business-wide load plan to senior management
Essential qualifications:
• A Level qualification or equivalent
• Proven experience as a Senior Planner in a construction environment
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
• Ability to challenge and correct project logic
• Experience with business-wide resource-based load plans
• Reliable, autonomous, and team-oriented
• Strong time management and quick thinking to meet deadlines
