We are expanding our award-winning, multi-disciplinary Regeneration team and need enthusiastic people with the skills to deliver our ambitious agenda to the maximum benefit of Renfrewshire. We expect you to have a passion for regeneration and an understanding of the inter-relationships and partnerships necessary to deliver successful projects and initiatives. You will assist in the development and delivery of a range of regeneration projects.

It is essential that you are educated to degree level or equivalent in Planning / Regeneration / Architecture / Surveying or a related discipline. You will have experience in producing and using spreadsheets and other analytical information technology tools; carry out surveys and site visits; knowledge of current planning and regeneration issues; ability to read and use plans and communicate effectively with professionals, contractors and the community.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified or recent graduate to contribute to the Council’s high quality planning service provision and to gain good practical experience. The post will involve assisting in the production of the next Local Development Plan, planning guidance, development briefs, land use audits and other planning policy work as well as maintaining databases, websites, and information systems.

The post will be based within the Place Strategy Team in the Chief Executives Service. We are looking to recruit an appropriately qualified assistant planner who will have knowledge of land use planning policy, including environmental, economic, and social aspects.

You must have a degree in planning or equivalent discipline and have knowledge of planning legislation and the development planning regulations. It is essential that you have experience of producing written work; the ability to analyse and present clear information, with effective organisational, time management, IT, communication, and engagement skills.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to develop their career as a policy professional within a local government environment.

A full, current driving licence is desirable.
