Job Description – Demand Planner (Fresh Produce)
Job Summary
Reporting to the Fresh Produce Buyer, the Fresh Produce Assistant Buyer is responsible for the timely and accurate replenishment of all fresh produce, and the diligent control of stock on hand.
Job Scope
1) Demand Planning / Ordering – the Fresh Produce Assistant Buyer is responsible for:
· Accurately forecasting and ordering fresh produce to drive availability and minimize markdown/shrinkage.
· Regular update and maintenance of produce buying file.
· Conducting daily/weekly forecasting according to the buying schedule.
· Communicating purchase orders in a timely and clear fashion to all required suppliers.
· Conduct timely shipment stock allocations to ensure stores receive sufficient stocks to maximize sales.
· Ad hoc activities relating to buying as determined by the Fresh Produce Buyer.
2) Stock Control - the Fresh Produce Assistant Buyer is responsible for:
· The constant monitoring of stock on hand in the warehouse and in-store, and associated actions to maximize profitable sales and minimize markdown/shrinkage.
· Taking corrective action on stocks in agreement with the Fresh Produce Buyer.
3) Reporting – the Fresh Produce Assistant Buyer is responsible for:
· Producing daily/weekly/monthly category and SKU performance reports to facilitate good business decisions.
· Reporting comparative shop data following comparative shopping as determined by Fresh Produce buyer.
4) Systems – the Fresh Produce Assistant Buyer is responsible for:
· Becoming conversant in all required systems.
Job Prerequisites
