About the program

The Chevron Australia Downstream University Intern Program provides students in their final year of study with 12 weeks of paid employment, giving you the opportunity to participate in our industry-leading projects while acquiring practical skills relevant to your field of study.

We also provide education and training during the program to help cultivate your professional skills within a diverse, inclusive, supportive and collaborative workplace.

About the role

During the program, you will work across various teams on a variety of projects designed to grow your capabilities and add business value. You can also expect cross-functional opportunities that increase your business knowledge as you collaborate to deliver results.

Eligibility/Requirements

We encourage applications from motivated and talented Business university students with individual stream or combination of public relations, marketing, communications, commerce, human resources or related disciplines, with a keen interest in the oil and gas industry and advancing the cleaner energy solutions needed for a lower carbon future.

To be eligible for the Chevron Australia Downstream University Intern Program applicants must be:

• In their final year of a generalist business undergraduate degree

• Effective communication skills with strong analytical skills and a focus on teamwork and collaboration.

• Available for the specified duration of employment from 25 November 2024 until 21 February 2025 (Monday to Friday schedule)

• Eligible to legally work and live in Australia permanently.

We are looking for an Project Management Intern to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to our Sr. PMO Program Manager and based on-site.

Location: This position will be based in San Jose, California

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead a cost-reduction project within the manufacturing team
• Facilitate meetings with cross-functional teams
• Assist with action tracking and management
• Create and deliver reports to upper management

Skills and Experience:

• Working knowledge of PC business software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Highly motivated and a self-starter
• Strong oral and written communication skills 
• Must demonstrate a bias for action and implementation
• Proven and demonstrated teamwork skills
• You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or any relevant Engineering discipline. And you are successfully maintaining an above average GPA, preferably 3.0 or higher.
• This internship is scheduled to begin June 2024 and end on approximately August 2024.

Our experts assist clients in financial budgeting and reporting, rate development and value-based payment, supplemental payments, waiver neutrality, and cost sharing.

The Guidehouse Internship Program staffs interns on real world projects, showcasing the Guidehouse culture, and providing them with a meaningful consulting experience. Interns work with teams and provide real time deliverables in support of the clients. Each Intern is paired with a Buddy to serve as a resource that can assist them in navigating their Guidehouse experience.

Our Interns help our clients improve their business processes, internal controls, operating efficiency, transparency and performance management, and ability to comply with federal laws and regulations. During your assignment, you will be given the opportunity to support projects to address some of the most significant project challenges faced by state clients. Guidehouse projects are extremely fluid and require self-motivated individuals willing to develop solutions on their own or in a team of highly skilled professionals. Project members are provided the opportunity to interact with our clients' senior management and enhance their skills in the areas of technical competency, business development, client service and people development.

Throughout the internship, you will have the chance to work with our internal teams on the assigned project/contract, meet with upper management to reflect on your personal and professional development, and socialize with your fellow interns during outings/activities.

As an Intern, you will work with an experienced team to support the development of client deliverables, internal and client presentations, day-to-day project logistics, and any additional project tasks. What You Will Need:

• Minimum Years of Experience: 0 years

• Minimum Degree Status: Undergraduate Degree (Must still be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in Fall 2023 and graduate by Summer 2025)

• Degree concentration in Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, Insurance, Mathematics, Risk Management, Statistics, or similar is required

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Preferred candidates will have passed at least one SOA Actuarial exam at the time of application; Ideal candidates will be scheduled to have completed 2 exams by March 2025

• Previous internship or work experience preferred

• Healthcare payer experience and/or education in health economics is strongly desired

• Excellent quantitative analysis skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
