A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Facilities and Project Manager to join our Pallet Division.



Position Overview:

As a Facilities and Project Manager within our Pallet Division, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing a variety
of facilities and special projects. This role requires exceptional project management skills, a deep understanding of facility
operations, and the ability to introduce and implement effective project management methodologies. Your primary responsibility
will be to ensure the successful planning, execution, and completion of all assigned projects, with a strong focus on meeting
project goals, deadlines, and budgetary constraints. You will also be responsible for conducting and facilitating project meetings
to maintain clear communication and drive project success.



Reporting to the Compliance Director, this role will develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines,
budgets, and resource allocation. You will monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and proactively implement
mitigation strategies whilst ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards including building regulations
are adherence to.



In this role, you will oversee the planning, design, and construction of facilities projects, including renovations, upgrades, and
any other suitable projects, including managing contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure high-quality work and
cost-effectiveness. You will also prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and action items to keep the project on track.





Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Construction Management, Engineering, Facilities Management) or equivalent
experience.
* Expert Knowledge of CDM regulations and industry standards.
* Proven experience in project management, preferably in facilities or construction projects.
* Strong understanding of facilities management operations and best practices.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Monday.com).
* Project Management Professional (PMP) or other relevant certifications are a plus.



The ability to travel around the site network during the weeks working hours and on occasions outside working hours is
indispensable.

Key Responsibilities

As Project Manager, He\She will be responsible for ensuring that a building project is completed safely, within an agreed timeframe and budget. Managing the practical side of every stage of the build, you will work closely with architects, surveyors and other building professionals in planning and delivery. You will also supervise and direct a range of operations on a construction site and ensure that all tradespeople and contractors are working together to an agreed plan and that progress is being made. Plan and coordinate a project from start to finish, including assisting in bidding precontract activities and organising the schedule of work, costings, and budget. Plan the work and oversee the buying of necessary materials and equipment hire and manage staff for the project. Manage the construction site on a day-to-day basis, including supervising the labour force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work, and overseeing quality control.

What you'll need to succeed:
* Project Manager with Accredited Degree qualification or minimum 5 years experience on Construction M&E projects, preferably in health care sector.

Reporting to the Head of APHA Strategy and Planning you will:

Support the development and implementation of the Agency’s strategic and business planning processes, setting clear standards and expectations, in line with APHA’s policies, people and business objectives.
Collaborate with others across APHA eg. Directorates, other strategy leads and Defra Group Corporate Services to ensure alignment and implementation of the Agency’s strategies and business plans.
Lead the development and embed a business excellence ethos across the organisation building in systems thinking, productivity and efficiency plans.
Lead the business performance management function ensuring the right information is provided to boards, ministers and Directorates, as needed.
Ensure processes are in place for the systematic collection, analysis, and evaluation of data and information and define metrics against which the Agency can assess and measure its performance and the delivery of its strategic aims and objectives.
Support a professional network / community of practice for those involved in strategy innovation and business planning activities across the Agency.
