They are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Planner to play a pivotal role within the project team, ensuring meticulous planning and execution of this high-impact initiative.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Planner, you will be an integral part of the project team, responsible for the comprehensive planning and scheduling of the major rail scheme. Your role will involve working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of planning activities across various project components including RC structures, station upgrades, and heavy civil engineering works. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining project timelines, managing resources effectively, and mitigating risks to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules using planning software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Create and update comprehensive project plans, detailing timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and dependencies.

Coordination and Integration:
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate planning activities across RC structures, station upgrades, and heavy civil works.
- Ensure all project elements are synchronized and aligned with the overall project objectives.

Progress Monitoring and Reporting:
- Conduct regular progress reviews, assess performance against the schedule, and identify potential delays.
- Prepare and present detailed planning reports, including critical path analysis, earned value management, and schedule variance reports, to project leadership and stakeholders.

Risk Management and Mitigation:
- Identify risks to project timelines and develop mitigation strategies to address potential delays or issues.
- Implement corrective actions to keep the project on track and within budget.

- Maintain clear and effective communication with all project stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Facilitate planning meetings and workshops to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions.

- Mentor and guide junior planners, providing training and support to develop their skills.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

- Conduct quality assurance checks on planning deliverables to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Senior Planner within the rail sector, with a strong background in RC structures, station upgrades, and heavy civils.
- Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Relevant degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Membership in a professional body such as APM, PMI, or similar is advantageous.
