The main objectives of this role are: To provide efficient and effective management in respect of business development and project management. This will include working in collaboration with clinical and non-clinical managers in order to formulate sound business proposals, co-ordinate and manage specific projects and implement people management in accordance with local policy and applicable legislation, and where appropriate, working in partnership with the relevant corporate services teams. To serve as the initial contact both internally and externally for NHSTT with regard to project, quality, performance and business matters. Promote a values, attitudes and behaviour-led recruitment culture in order to support the Navigo mission, values and ethos To work with corporate service colleagues and stakeholders including, but not limited to, Workforce, Estates, Finance, Clinical Managers, Quality & Performance, Corporate, Administration, colleagues and the individuals using our services to formulate ongoing service, process, information and people development provision To act as co-budget holder in partnership with the Clinical lead, ensuring that services operate in a manner that is financially viable and sustainable and provide regular financial communication. To be involved in the strategic and operational management and development, including policy co-production and revision, training compliance, attendance rates, conducting disciplinary investigations, capability, supervision, PDR, coaching and establishment formulation and revision as required. To lead on and manage NHSTT quality projects and developments to enhance care delivery and efficiencies within the service. To keep accurate, up to date, action plans and updated documents to enable feed back to the clinical lead and management team. To monitor, have oversight, highlight and escalate any concerns around the NHSTT national targets and IPR dashboard in good time allowing for a proactive approach to improve targets alongside patient care. To lead and work alongside corporate services on appropriate forums and platforms for co-production and engagement, corresponding these to formulate and develop action plans and service and organisational objectives Work with senior managers to formulate long term plans and strategies for service provision and development using project management knowledge and experience To work with the Business Development Team on areas of service development and policy writing which impacts the wider organisation, developing and implementing policy, proposing changes in conjunction with workgroups and service area leads Embed the Navigo mission, values and ethos across the workforce and all teams ______________________________________________________________ Principal job duties / main tasks Business Management To be part of the senior managers on-call rota once a month including occasional weekends. Act as finance lead ensuring financial awareness, budget performance and risk/contingency planning. To work alongside corporate services, in the collecting and presentation of data, and other evidence relating to NHSTT to support business proposals, monitor ongoing projects and make recommendations for improvements. Design and use complex spreadsheets and initiate and produce high standard correspondence, action notes, reports, graphics, etc. To provide regular business development updates to colleagues and those individuals using services as appropriate Liaise with colleagues in all areas of Navigo (including Corporate, Estates, Finance, SMT, etc.) in order to identify and secure appropriate business development opportunities and any grants or other funding in order to support business and service provision and development To review processes across services in order to promote efficiency and quality, seeking and implementing solutions to barriers where these exist. Ensure process reviews are supported by evidence generated with support from corporate services and linked into existing governance processes, e.g. quality improvement plans go to the Quality working group for initial planning and support. To be involved and lead in the planning, costing, implementation and final execution of NHSTT projects. To work with corporate services to combine appropriate data with own clinical expert knowledge of NHSTT and that of others in order to produce meaningful, factual, purposeful management reports to aid decision making, service development and continuous improvement within services and teams Devise and facilitate (including conducting) audit of people, process, service and policy in order to provide quality assurance and continuous improvement To work with corporate services and stakeholders within existing governance structures to co-produce and implement standardised brochures, booklets and other documentation across the service To complete the Navigo Respect instructor training, ensuring that courses are offered in line with training needs analysis. Be responsible for producing the yearly training plan and attending quarterly instructor meetings. People and Performance Management To ensure robust recruitment and on-boarding processes exist and that these are adhered to in order to promote and role-model the organisational and service objectives, values, attitudes and behaviours To instil and reinforce a culture of openness, honesty, professional bravery, resilience, integrity, equity and humanity through the development and application of appropriate people practice, process and consistent application of policy To ensure that colleagues have access to information that is appropriately presented in order to aid safe and effective service provision, finding solutions to barriers that may exist To support in directing clinicians time towards clinical matters, mitigating avoidable barriers to this Acting as investigating officer for disciplinary or other performance related matters, ensuring impartiality and compliance with internal policy and legislation To work alongside corporate services and lead within NHSTT to support team managers with fair and consistent people and performance matters such as consultation, mediation, redeployment, risk assessment and performance action planning Implementing a consistent and meaningful meeting structure and the provision of comprehendible information and data to all stakeholders Manage and maintain establishment and budget overview for NHSTT, acting as co-budget holder Overseeing the provision of listening groups (forums) for colleagues and service users including drop-in sessions, and ensure that outcomes are cascaded acted upon and progress communicated regularly Must be able to travel fair distances to any relevant meetings including conferences, national events and local events, allowing for personal development and showcasing of the service. Act as incident/Datix handler/investigator where appropriate, and be notified of all incident reporting in order to facilitate (or provide) meaningful incident debriefs with colleagues and individuals using services Attend team meetings and other necessary meetings in order to provide and gather information in relation to business and performance matters and embed the organisational and service objectives, values and ethos, chairing where required Lead on and sustain the implementation of values, attitudes and behaviour-led work culture Handle complaints and grievances in accordance with local policy and legislation n conjunction with the corporate PALS Manager Support and lead on monthly team meetings, ensuring the day is organised and well prepared for, including liaison with other services, internal and external to ensure guest speakers are planned. Support the team managers and clinical lead with any ad-hoc support requests to ensure the smooth running of the service. Cover any supervision needs in the absence of team managers for the team. Clinical Management To be part of the Navigo house duty rota once per week, supporting individuals who attend Navigo house in distress or who require additional support outside the scope of the receptionist staff. To offer clinical oversight to waiting well initiatives and triage clinicians, ensuring they are adequately supported in their roles. Support in the oversight and development of care pathways according to the NHSTT manual and current NICE guidance. Support the development of a group therapy programme ensuring capacity is maximised and flow through the service is effective and efficient Completion of the annual and quarterly NHSTT staffing census alongside the clinical lead and relevant corporate services, ensuring timely completion and accurate information is provided. To be up to date with all changes to NICE guidance or NHSTT manual, ensuring this is shared with the management team in NHSTT and cascaded effectively to the teams. Complete Records for approval requests as they arise, in a timely fashion to a high standard. Support and lead on Mortality Reviews, Structured Judgement Reviews, After Action Reviews and Swarm huddles as required under the PSIRF framework. Share joint responsibility with the team managers for ensuring the SystmOne task box is checked on a daily basis and actions are taken appropriately.
